God Bless America
by Irving Berlin
While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free.
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer.
God bless America,
Land that I love,
Stand beside her and guide her
Through the night with a light from above;
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans white with foam,
God bless America,
My home, sweet home;
God bless America,
My home, sweet home.
Though our country is in great disarray and many are rejecting Thy Dominion as exercised by Thy Son our Savior and His designates, Thou hast faithfully kept us from the most awful consequences of our disobedience, and given us the beginning of one more night of rest.
I beg and beseech Thee to regard the loyalty of the remnant of those yet holding true to a persistent committed trust in Thy Son our Light, and in Thy Word our Guide. We beg of Thee that Thou might preserve our earthly residence from harm, prevent us from perpetrating even greater improprieties, and protect the Peace Officers, Members of the Armed Forces, and Ordained Pastors who are battling for our national material and spiritual safety. We who love Thee yearn for a night of blissful and strengthening rest, that we may serve Thee faithfully in making, inducting, and training disciples, the fruit of the spiritual labors Thou hast assigned us, that Thy Name may be glorified before the plethora of worldlings who claim other or no gods, and that Thy Kingdom may be enlarged, according to Thy determinate Will.
I ask this in the Name of, and for the sake of, The Lord and Messiah Thy Child Jesus. Please, Most Magnificent and Holy Father, I beg of Thee, do make it so.
Amen, and again, Amen.
Amen.
I am not sure the Lord should bless America as it is now.
When Irving Berlin was alive, God did bless America and rightly so.
When Irving Berlin was alive, God did bless America and rightly so.
It is exactly the same today as it was in Irving's tine, on July Fourth, 1776, or when the Pilgrims celebrated a Thanksgiving in the face of their distresses. Here it is:
The Almighty God, my Heavenly Father is absolutely and eternally faithful and gracious.
We are not.
I always have an irresistible urge to sing this out loud when I’m at work, and I occasionally see a muslim.
To quote Pastor Chuck Smith, if God doesn’t punish 21st century America for its sins, then He owes Sodom and Gomorrah an apology.
From the green fields of VirginiaListen to Kate Smith sing these words in the first ever performance of the song. <
To the goldfields out in Nome,
God bless America,
My home, sweet home.
Is that Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel fame? I think he is right. It may not be physical fire and brimstone, but it will be something to get America's attention. I just wonder how people will respond to it.
Amen
Joining in praying for repentance and revival in our beloved America.
