Wisconsin's deer season was just a couple hours old when D.J. Jorgenson says his 11-year-old son, Kameron, wounded the buck in the Town of Oneida.
Jorgenson tells WLUK-TV (http://bit.ly/1uGWtCm ) they tracked it to a neighbor's property. Neighbor Randy Heyrman shot twice from his stand to finish off the buck.
With the deer dead and the hunters deadlocked over who could keep it, they flipped a coin.
Kameron called tails. It came up heads. Heryman claimed the buck. All Kameron got was a photo.

No guarantee the kid would have gotten it.
Kill shot is what counts.
However, not much of a stand up guy. Greedy, shoulda just given it to the kid. On the other hand, kid may have wounded it, but the kill shot is what matters. Coin toss seems fair.
The coin flip aside, it sounds like it went to the hunter who filed the immediate fatal shot, but I think I'd have let the 11 year old neighbor have it.
And Kameron didn’t even share the photo with Fox News!
Interesting. No rumble, no gunfight, no rioting. Just a decision to use chance to decide, and good sportsmanship.
My first instinct was "give it to the kid", but on reflection, I like the neighbor's answer. The kid will learn that a kill is what matters, and I'll bet he takes a better shot next time around.
So you can have a deer stand in town???
Yes, I realized that as well as I typed it.
No reason to give everyone a trophy. Good learning lesson.
The only ten-pointer I ever shot was a wounded deer that stumbled onto our property. Shooting a wounded deer is the right thing to do, but it does take the sense of accomplishment out of it.
Sharpton on his way to town, President to hold Press Conf. At 8 pm to denounce two Crackas fighting over who killed the brown Deer.
Holder to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate possible civil rights violations.

Probably a wigwam also if you so desire.

The community lies near the center of the reservation of the federally recognized
Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, for which it is named.
Depends on the town. Most everywhere you’re in a town or village of some sore, though you might not realize it.

“Da Turdy Point Buck”
Since the kid called tails he should still get a trophy.
:-)
The son of the man who plows my mothers driveway bagged a 14 point buck yesterday.
The kid is 12 years old.
Saw a photo of the boy with the deer - brother, was it huge. Guy estimated he would have 170 pounds of meat ounce dressed.
The guy might get that much meat, if the buck was about TWICE the size of a very large whitetail buck!
Seriously, there is no way possible to get that much meat off a deer. To get 170 lbs of meat, the deer would have to weigh well over 400 lbs field dressed. No deer gets that big.
