What a Joke!

The "riots" occurring tonight are minimal and nothing compared to what was seen this past summer in Ferguson. Most reporting done tonight has been laughable and inflammatory, IMO.

Maybe I misunderstood, but your comments seemed dismissive of what actually seems to be pretty serious stuff. I just watched a female CNN reporter being pelted by rocks as she reported on several businesses being burnt to the ground.

I’m just now getting Choppers over Adam’s Point. Twitter seems to be saying that the protesters are almost entirely White. Wouldn’t surprise me.

Not my intention, I simply expected much worse than what we’ve witnessed up to this point.

Insensitive? Perhaps.

I’ve become very jaded and callous about this situation due to the outrageous proclamations from the “supporters” of Michael Brown, be they true “supporters” or actually professional “troublemakers”.

They need to move in with water cannons. Soak ‘em down, let ‘em freeze. Seems the police have set up the zoo and are letting the animals do what they want.

I have family in Capitol Hill. They always have riots there.

Having enjoyed two real riots here, IMO, the test of serious rioting is how many trips to the hospital are made. The natives will dance all night if one let’s them. And, so far it appears that what you pointed out is exactly that.

Last time national guard went real on protestors or rioters was 1970

None of the Miami or the big LA or the Cincinnati riots brought out heavy comitatus response

I guess they simply don’t do that more

Just let the Orcs roll

But if humans fight back then they will create a firestorm of vigilante and racism smears

This is the new America....better get used to it

They arrested 29 people. One elderly man got carjacked and then run over. That’s pretty much it.

That was stupid to rebuild it instead of hightailing it out of there.

Yeah, I heard there was something going on in Seattle. I’m surprised it’s not more widespread.

Henceforth, these should be known as the Media Riots.

Hyperbole sells. Violence never should be glorified. Granted, these are not your grandfather's riots of 1965 and 1968, despite what the Media is trying to show.

I can't believe I'm hearing such asinine comments on FR.

Has sarcasm been criminalized in Seattle or has the effects of second-hand marijuana smoke dulled your funny bone?

Well? Did the world end? Is the whole city of Ferguson burnt down? Did all of the protests turn into riots?

I didn't think so. A lot of media persons and political chatterers should try to get some help for that problem of theirs.

From The Collaborative International Dictionary of English v.0.48 :

  Hysteria \Hys*te"ri*a\, n. [NL.: cf. F. hyst['e]rie. See
     Hysteric.] (Med.)
A nervous affection, occurring almost exclusively in women,
in which the emotional and reflex excitability is
exaggerated, and the will power correspondingly diminished,
so that the patient loses control over the emotions, becomes
the victim of imaginary sensations, and often falls into
     paroxism or fits.
     [1913 Webster]

Note: The chief symptoms are convulsive, tossing movements of
the limbs and head, uncontrollable crying and laughing,
and a choking sensation as if a ball were lodged in the
throat. The affection presents the most varied
symptoms, often simulating those of the gravest
diseases, but generally curable by mental treatment
           alone. Hysteric
