I wish I could get out more, but right now I’m working 60 hours a week. And at this time of year, I get one day off a week. And in my precious time off I hang with the people I love, and go out and spend my money on the people I love. And play with the Internet. Like I’m doing right now.

Thanks. I bought my first model 880 in 1973. Back then the 880 had a smooth bore and the 881 was rifled with “Decca rifling” whatever that was.

They later dropped the 881 and put a rifled barrel in the 880.

The quality of the parts seems to have dropped a little but it appears to be basically identical to the 1973 model.

I bought my latest one at Wal-Mart for $44 which included a really cheap 4X scope. The scope does actually work tho. It can’t compare to my Diana RWS model 48 springer but for the money it is a heck of a lot of performance.

My mistake.

I was looking at Ralphie and his AR-15 in post 8, not your post 7.

Yeah they are out there but they are junk. Get the Crosman 760. It’s much better.

yeah, I used to have one. From there I graduated to a double barrel shot gun. If I was a kid now I would be locked up a child detention center and my folks would probably be locked up in jail for letting have it.

My eyes are such that I can’t shoot a long gun without a scope for any accuracy any more and only a Makarov handgun, for some reason.

The best airgun is made in Boliver, MO.

One thing I like about the 760 is it is easy to load pellets. The first one I had came with a rifled barrel and wood stock.

They now have plastic stocks and a smoothbore barrel. I do like the basic design and it is even cheaper than the Daisy model 880 but I think they should have kept the rifled barrel. I could even put up with the plastic if the barrel was rifled.

I can’t afford to spend several thousand for an air rifle but some of the best in the world are made in South Korea.

There are models which will kill a buffalo.

I bought one several years ago to pop dogs with. The sights are off and since they are not adjustable for windage, I had to jury rig a peep sight from a piece of plumbing pipe hanger. It now shoots better than I can hold it at 20 yards!

I buy lots of items at Atwoods. Now they carry firearms and I must stop and drool all over the gun counter every time I am there.

So here is something I find kind of odd here in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. My daughter did an 8th grade science project on ballistics using an FHN .308 sniper rifle, DPMS AR-15, Springfield Armory XD-40 handgun, Ruger 10/22 and a RWS Diana Magnum 350 air pellet rifle. She shot them all and got an A on the project. Not only was it cleared by the school she got a deserving grade. That was two years ago...now my Son is doing something similar and got the okay too. My point is that it struck me as odd given the anti-gun environment in schools that they would allow something like that. This is a Conservative county though...
