Hi all - Hope I'm posting this in the right place, but could I ask for some Freeper prayers? I'm scheduled to have a colon resection tomorrow due to diverticulitis. Never had surgery before -- and allergic to a lot of things -- so I'm scared out of my wits. Would very much appreciate some good Freeper prayers.

Well, this may not be helpful, but my best cat, Schmeckie, had a colon resection because of a birth defect. Came through it fine and was his old peppy self for years more. Good luck.
Amish lady here just went through it. Saw her in the grocery store 2 days ago. She looked great, even younger. She has 10 kids. The husband looked older and stressed.....

Will pray for you.
You’ll be fine but, half the ass you used to be.
When you get out, follow the diet regimen to a “T”.
Never have anything with nutz, seeds, etc.
No sodas.
No broccoli or anything like it
Ask for mascerated tomatoes for sauces.
If you eat sushi “No Frickin Sesame Seeds”.
Drop the salt too. It inflames the lining of the colon.
Speakin of which “You will wake up a semicolon”.
I got a million jokes but, no joke. Follow the diet guidlines unless you like vomiting or always wanted to carry a colestomy bag.

Been there (Chrons Disease). Trust me on this. Look forward to life without intense pain. The surgery isn’t the easiest thing in the world to be sure, but it’s fairly common. Don’t fear it. Embrace the positive side and focus on it.
I have an abdomen that resembles a road map. If I can deal with it a few times, anyone can ;)
Oh Lord, please comfort your good servant, bring him peace so he can rest tonight. Guide the hands of his surgeons Lord, and bless your servant with speedy recovery. In His Name. Amen

Praying for your calmness and picturing each cell healing quickly and may you not have pain. Whatever you want, Jesus is listening...and answering!! What a great feeling it is to know so many are praying for you and the hands that will mend you! God Bless!
As others have said, be patient in healing and follow the Drs. orders to a fault.

I prayed a little prayer and hope that you heed the advice given by others. I may have something like this going on; it’s not pretty to talk about the symptoms. In any case, I would be filled with anxiety, too, because I am just that way. You will probably be fine, too bad it’s right before the holidays, but hope you’ll be well on the road to recovery by Christmas. Love and blessings to you and yours.
