Are you a "believer" a "denier" ... or an "agnostic"?

Are you a "believer" a "denier" ... or an "agnostic"?

When you put together a large group of people who are all certain that they can predict what will happen 100 years from now, a group that demonizes those who stray even a little from their beliefs, a group claiming that if everyone follows them, we will be saved, but if they don't we will be doomed - then in most cases, that group is called a religion.

Like most religions, this group also elevates the importance of mankind, so much so that humans are viewed as having more power over the globe than all other forces - more power than the wind, more power than the sea, more power than the molten magma under our feet, and even more power than the Sun. Yes - more power than the Sun! Like religions that once believed that the Earth was the center of the Solar System, and that the Sun revolved around the Earth, this group believes that the forces of nature on Earth revolve around what mankind does or does not do, and that even the power of the Sun is insignificant when compared to the mighty power of almighty human beings to affect their own destiny!

Most of you already know who I am talking about, so I ask again - Are you a "believer" a "denier" ... or an "agnostic"?

As for me, I would say that I am an agnostic, but leaning toward being a denier. And as most of you know, this post has nothing to do with God.

Anthropogenic Gloobull Worming denier.
Mankinds contribution to supposed greenhouse gasses is a piddling amount compared to volcanos, cows, decaying crap in ocean water, and even.. trees. [Reagan was right.]

Denier and have been since Day One.

Main reason...Why on earth would I ever believe Al Gore, much less his "computer models"?

Look at the junky lifestyles of the leaders of the movement. Why on earth would I follow the opinions of people like these?

And if this criteria isn't enough for some people, none of the predictions have come true. From polar bears to polar caps they are always wrong. It is all based on hatred of capitalism and a romantic view of nature.

I am a denier because when given a chance to take action to save the planet, they always opt out if there is any conflict with any of their other agendas. Case in point.... they should be pushing the development of natural gas, but they oppose it. Their argument against fracking is it will hurt well water and yet any sane person would choose a few wells in pa to save the entire state of florida from being underwater. These contradictions in their agendas show a fundamental lack of sincerity from their own side.

a believer in principal, but not in detail. The phenomenon is real, but the timetable of its progression is not knowable

I’m a doubter but I fully accept that, over time, people must clean up after themselves. China a good example of that. I’m hard pressed to believe that the amount of CO2 will cause catastrophic, runaway warming. The earth has been a whole lot hotter with many times the atmospheric CO2 than we have. The idea that methane will be expelled by heating oceans hasn’t been observed in the past and no evidence exists that it was expelled even when there were trees and dinosaurs at the South Pole.

CO2 is a greenhouse gas that we should be glad to have in some abundance because otherwise we’d never have come out of the Ice Ages or snowball earth for that matter.

Believer.

Every 12 months or so I notice that I the climate changes. The earth warms.

I take it on faith.

Oh! That’s “weather”. You meant unproven global weather insanity?

No faith in that.

I totally agree with you.

The earth has not warmed FOR 17-18 YEARS. But I still see articles what say the ocean is warmer than it’s ever been; but they never produce any evidence to support their claim.

Best book: “Red Hot Lies, How Global Warming Alarmists Use Threats, Fraud and Deception to Keep You Misinformed”, by Christopher C. Horner.

If anybody will take the time to read this book, they surely will see the very same things we’re seeing on the TV these past days .. “fraud, deceit and deception”. In other words, this is another OBAMACARE type scam.

Those who are believers in this deception, just want to be able to control YOU and YOUR PROPERTY. They want to tell you what you can grow; how much you can grow; what portion of your property you can use, and for what reason. This is truly a land grab of national proportions.

It’s another bait and switch .. when are people going to realize what’s coming at them ..??????????

Your post centers around the discussion of religion, and yet you say it has nothing to do with God?

I find it interesting that you exclude unbelievers (atheists) or at least categorize them as deniers... as if they know, but refuse their belief.

I also find it interesting that you have an accurate assessment of mankind’s inability or at least his limitations when it comes to altering creation.

I am curious though why it is important to an agnostic leaning denier what other’s believe or deny and why.

What does an agnostic believe? What is denied? Is the central reason for unbelief or denial based on a feeling? or on facts?

What is the purpose of denial? (of anything)
Does rejection of an idea or concept lead to the discovery of anything? or does it by itself only end in continued ignorance of an answer to the original question?

I am an agnostic. If there is scientific proof then I will accept it. But the fact is the globe has not been warming in the past 20 - 25 years, And we have increased our CO2 emissions. This does not bode well for those that believe in anthropogenic global warming is a fact.
