To Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY), "white cracker" isn't derogatory -- it's a "term of endearment."
The longtime congressman ruffled some feathers last year when he told the Daily Beast that members of the tea party were the same group of "white crackers" who tried to fight desegregation in the South during the Civil Rights movement.
In a Monday interview with HuffPost Live, Rangel expressed surprise that those comments received backlash.
"I thought that was a term of endearment, you know," Rangel said. "[The tea party is] so proud of their heritage and all the things they believe in."

Talk about the ultimate Uncle Tom.
So is COON.
If they can have their N word, surely others can have their WC phrase.
Historically he’s crazy. Democrats were the Jim Crow folks. Republicans or Independents are Tea Party.
Charlie, Charlie, I just looked up the term on the Urban Dictionary and it isn’t a term of endearment.
Charlie is such a nice colored man. He is one funny negro.
just like when I say home-boy,,,
you know what I mean.
FUCR
C word c word c word...
As in CENSURED.
Tsarina of linguistics, Rachel Jantael, has declared Rangel is honorable. She has decided he meant to say “crack-uh”
Charlie just doesn’t have any “cred”.
From Urban dictionary one of the MANY definitions, although along the same racist vein of all the compilations.
“A white person, usually ignorant and/or racist, for whom the racial slur cracker - while capturing the essence of the individual’s personality - does not quite seem to fully capture the extent of the individual’s ignorant and/or racist behavior without being used twice. The word “ass” is therefore used to break up the dual usage of the term cracker - not only to emphasize the insult by adding an expletive (for example the way “punk bitch” is enhanced: “punk ass bitch”), but also because using the same word twice in a row doesn’t sound right.
Often used somewhat under one’s breath in disgust after having just made a point about an individual who is indeed a cracker, or the aforementioned cracker ass cracker.”
(put the ass in between white and cracker for added emphasis of the scorn)
The guy is Uncle Toms butler.
What if just started referring to our melanin gifted fellow citizens as “obamas”? While the word “Cracker” rolls off our backs and at worst causes a chuckle there’s really nothing we can say that won’t pi$$ them off in some way.
While were at it, Porch monkey comes to mind.
From now on, you have to say Saltine-American. < / PC Police >
Obolas porch monkey should shut up his hate hole.
The fact that he associates the term with the Democrat desegregationists is proof that this is flat out lie!
Fondly,

“I thought that was a term of endearment, you know,” Rangel said. “[The tea party is] so proud of their heritage and all the things they believe in.”
1) Is he saying that being called a white cracker is a part of history that anyone should be proud to use? Does that mean he thinks since “n” is a part of history anyone should be proud to use that, too?
2) Or is he saying that being called white cracker IS the tea party heritage? What the heck does that mean? Tea party heritage would include America’s early history, so the term of endearment would be patriot, not white cracker.
3) Or is he a slimy racist trying to excuse his intolerant comments.
Unwashed Malt-Liquor drinking Spodabees is ALSO a term of endearment.
lol - I don’t have a high enough opinion of Rangel to care what he calls anybody. His remarks are worthless.
At our house, we call what ends up in the toilet, “obamas”.
