Yes, they even sell SPAM gift sets in SK. I understand that a good gift for visiting people would be a watermelon or a fruit basket, probably because fruit can be pretty expensive in that country. If a newly married couple gets an apartment an appropriate housewarming gift would be large containers of laundry soap or such.
