Republican House speaker John Boehner warned President Obama ...
“I’ve made clear to the president that if he acts unilaterally on his own, outside of authority, he will poison the well,” Boehner said in a Thursday press conference. “And there will be no chance for immigration reform moving in this Congress. It’s as simple as that.”
The speaker trotted out the same warning when pressed on whether executive action would be a “catalyst” for congressional immigration action, as the White House has suggested. “When you play with matches, you take the risk of burning yourself,” he cautioned. “And [President Obama] is going to burn himself if he continues to go down this path.”

1. We never built the wall we promised Reagan in the first deal the D’s did with us.
2. We have some pretty good laws on the books as it is. Let’s agree to enforce those.
3. If you want to keep the folks that are already here, a lot of new things are going to have to happen:
- No more anchor babies
- Means test for any new immigrants
etc.
The only “reform” we need regarding immigration is to start enforcing the laws we already have.
1. Start deportations.
2. Ban any immigration from terrorist countries.
So Boner has his own plan for Amnesty.
