If your number is simply a polling place number concatenated w/a sequential number (meaning first guy at that poll is #1), your anonymity is maintained.
They should only publish the assigned number w/the votes. Not keep track of, or publish, who exactly got what number.
It’d therefore be up to the voter to tell other folks what their number was.

You’re not assigned a number in advance of the election. You get it at the polling place if and when you show up. Like taking a number at the deli counter.
