Travel tip: read those menus very carefully.
I’ve read in an article on line that a lot of Calimari (even served here in the US) is fake and is actually pig rectums. The article I read it in said the two are virtually indistinguishable, even to experts. I don’t know that I trust the article, but I hate calimari anyway. One might as well chomp on some bicycle inner-tubes.
I get boneless butterfly cut pork chops at the butcher shop, fry slow until very tender add BBQ sauce, way nicer than McRib, cheaper and you know what's in there. Plus the chops are huge and thick, bun 'em and enjoy.
