Not long after 0-Tard was elected, I decided to shun all leftist/liberals(including relatives), because people like them put that bastard in office and actively contribute to the destruction of our country as we know it, that my children will have to grow up in and endure.
Why would you want to be “friends” with someone like that. Whether you realize it or not, they are NOT your friends.....
PS: Trying to change their minds is a worthless endeavor, because their ideology is their religion. There’s no changing that.
I don’t have lefty friends. Why would I befriend a slavemaster?
I exercise my freedom of speech to the enth degree and confront liberal dogma every chance I get..people Ive known for 40 yrs ....have blocked me....It happens.....I dont care.
Some have moved “evolved”......when confronted with facts.....
I know 6 different families...who survived...communism...or islamic rule....
I.M.O......If people are afraid to use their freedoms....afraid to debate......then what do you have?.......nothing.
And I want more for my daughter....
I consider it rude to talk about politics or matters of faith on social media, and I try to lead by example. I have hidden the facebook feed of friends who make political posts that bother me, but I will occasionally go to their page to see what is new with them.
I did neglect to mention that I don’t do any ‘social media’ at all. No Fraudbook, twitter; none of it.
Oh yeah, if my freedoms were about to be taken you bet your hiney I would fight, just like the people before me that fought and died to make sure I have them.
But casual conversation with an ‘enlightened’ idiot... no, it ain’t worth getting my blood pressure up.

a few are non-political people I barely know but probably don’t like a lot of what I post. I don’t really care about offending them.
I haven't had anyone unfriend me yet.

Most of my friends and relatives have similar political leanings and philosophy. For ones who are peripheral, we tend to just keep topics off politics. One sibling has elected to interpret everything I say in a way that “robs her of her power”, so we are no longer on speaking terms, likely forever.
It might help that I am not on any social media.
I guess I have a different take than most here. I no longer have a FB account, didn’t like the company. However, I am also on other blogs that are not political. Sometimes they will bring up politics, and most are leftists.
Now, here’s the thing, the left was and is obnoxiously in our faces with politics. I totally understand why we all would not want to be like them, but...they are successful in changing the culture with this obnoxiousness. It really isn’t the rabid dem we need to try to convince, but typically there are many other people lurking, that can possibly be converted. Especially, when we give them just enough rope to hang themselves with. It’s kind of a fun hobby for me. Too many low info voters do not know the other side to any political disagreement, and if we don’t tell them, they never will.
One example: On a decorating forum, when Kohman breast cancer awareness pulled funding from planned parenthood, the women on this site were rabid. I posted a comment that simply said “choose life”. Of course I was attacked. I then posted a link to famous Margaret Sanger quotes, the founder of planned parenthood. I received 2 private e-mails from others saying they appreciated my response.
I really think for Conservatives to gain ground, we really do have to speak up.
One more example, and I have many, but a couple of months ago, my DH and I were at a party and another guest, who I had heard in the past talk about faux news, came up to me and said he had been talking to my husband about politics. He is mad at the dems, but not ready to like the r’s. I told him, we are not r’s were tea party and proud of it. He was surprised. But by now, he knew us, and knew we weren’t all the things the media says about us.
I really feel though like I don’t have anybody to have my back. IF you went to any website and said something negative about the current pres. there would be so many people jumping in to disagree and try to make you look foolish. We have to start having others back, and we all need to start standing up for ourselves. IMHO
There really are a lot of good ways to tear down their hold on the culture, but as a group, we don’t talk about them. I wish we had a section here for just that purpose.

I am planning to use speech freedom to convince others and I have woke up many so far.
Some run off....chicken out when presented w facts....But they got the message...and in lucid moments will reflect on them.
I just had a long term liberal....concede last week....and say that he was “reevaluating” everything....he apologized and suggested that his view point had changed .
my comp is locking up again....but at least I dont have to resign in for every forum and email......like I have been for the last 3 wks.....:)

I have the same policy and I heartily recommend the same to all conservatives and libertarians.
same here - I occasionally read the posts of the few liberals I know, but mostly it makes me laugh. They claim such a high road morally and intellectually, yet disparage anyone who watches Fox News (or Faux news as they refer to it) and/or Texans. Their hatred of all things Texas is unbelieveable. I ignore their posts but hope I get to gloat like a witch on wheels next Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday......
You can unfollow them. Just right-click on the down arrow on one of their posts and choose, “unfollow”. They will not know it. This is not like a ‘block’. I have many people in my list on the unfollow list....especially my stupid nephews.
