Two bears fought in a rural New Jersey neighborhood, and a brave bystander caught all the exciting action.
The video was uploaded to YouTube this week, but the brawl took place on August 14, according to the video's description.
The animals duked it out in Rockaway, about one hour northwest of Manhattan.

I almost think they were playing. Each waited for the other to make a move, like Big Time Wrestlers with a script. No visible blood was shed, no tears at the other’s snout were made. I was stunned at how quiet they both seemed. If you hadn’t seen it for yourself, one may not know that there were two 700lb Bears rolling about your front lawn. The Bears were not at all bothered or distracted by cars driving back and forth.
Notice all the fur in the street.
No blood, but lots of fur.

A lot of animals seem to have a kind of code when they are infighting, to try and avoid crippling injuries. We’re not alone in our “no hitting below the belt” kind of mentality.

That adult Bears would not seek to immediately destroy an opponent, tells me that, just as with elephants and wolves, know who they are dealing with, and will adjust their aggression accordingly. Of course, Bear intelligence and adaptability has been well known for a long time. Think of all those circus shows in Europe, Russia and China showing Bears riding unicycles while wearing a clown hat.
