Witness posting on another site says the man hit by the train did not decapitate the woman. He tried to intervene and was chased by the killer into the path of the train. The killer had a machete and was shouting in Arabic. He apparently fled the scene.

This article appears to potentially corroborate that last quote by reporting there were three bloody sheets at the crime scene (body, head, hand?):

However, Fox reports:
"Witnesses told the New York Post they saw the man drag the woman's body out of the building and onto the street, where he kicked her head some 20 feet before going to a nearby railroad track and jumping in front of an eastbound Long Island Railroad train approximately 25 minutes later. Police said his body was found about a mile from the apartment."
If indeed there were witnesses, why aren't more of them speaking out?

The first clue should be the beheading. How common is that for murders in the US? This sounds like a Muslim related crime.

In 1965 the idea of mad Arabs running through the streets decapitating people in the U.S. was something out of the comic books.
Now we just shrug it off as Just Them Crazy Moozlims acting out? Regrettable, but no big deal?!
