Pre-planning thread to bounce ideas around for venues and itinerary.
Info posted is tentative.
Date: TBD (May 2015?)
We are special, dangit!
Are you coming Saturday?
From what you’ve written..
Aw, hell.. why not.
I was about to reread my review, cause I didn't think it was so bad. ;-)
Ping - in case y’all aren’t rodeoing this Saturday.
Thanks. We have one in Huntsville but are having second thoughts with the weather.
If I can get someone ta ride shotgun with me, I’ll make the trip south...
Wish I could...but we’re heading north instead. Piper and Callie win. :)
What’s the word on the road trip?
11:00? So as to accommodate a decent and respectable lunch time?
Looks like apathy has run rampant! (prolly brought on by the cold temps.)
If I get a last minute taker, I’ll let ya know. But for now, it looks like them cats is stay’n in the blanket!
Sure, I’ll join for a look-see, though so far I’m agreeing with Humble, that they’re expensive, and not showing proper respect towards our “specialness”. 11:00 sounds good to me.
Looks like we sorta have a recon plan.
Meet at Hot Wells at 11:00 to tour the range, head off to lunch somewhere (Carl’s BBQ in Waller?), then over to Jellystone Park to check out the place.
That sounds like a plan!
Hope ya can sweet talk yer way into the Grand lodge for a look.
Recon trip update.
I’m reconsidering the time & place for the next shoot as there really isn’t a decent range in the Houston area.
Eaker & I met BaconMan at Hot Wells for a look see. The place has a lot of shooting bays, but it just seems to clinical. This would be a good place to sight in your guns, but not for a group event.
Jellystone was OK. Even though we were told that the Grand Lodge was on a private road that we couldn’t go down, that road was not marked and we drove down it. The lodge would have made a great party central. The park itself is very family orientated.
As much as I would like to somewhat recreate the first shoot ~ I just don’t see that happening.
Bummer.
It’ll work out fine in the end, though.. it always does.
Which one was that?
We didn't start numbering the things until after Elroy died..
There may be some cool ranges at least PROXIMATE to the Houston area, maybe I'll get motivated and search around.
Because it's our turn not to have to travel, dammit.
Uhmm - the 1st TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot was in May of 2006.

That would be awesome if you could find something. I just haven't seen one that fits our needs.
Too bad.
I liked the place way out in West TX.
That would be a fresh adventure!
So it was the one at American Shooting Center?
There are two threads on it with but sketchy info.
Do we hate AMC now?
I don’t know, ain’t been there in years since I moved out here to BFE.
