Google "mail-order Ukrainian brides" where the American dollar goes a lot farther and guys who can spring for the occasional pizza (and not beat them in fits of drunken rage) is by their measure a lavish lifestyle.

Like placage, a form of perverse ‘relationships.’ The Southern man would take a colored mistress and set her up in style. The relationship would occasionally terminate and for some demented reason, a colored woman was respected and had status in her community. IT was expected the boys would be shipped off to Paris for an education and new life while the daughter would follow in her mother’s footsteps.
This instance renting is cheaper than owning. Some people lease cars.

The problem is, if you bring them over, they may divorce you as soon as they have a green card. Or earlier, since claims of abuse may preclude deportation.
One solution, if the guy is retiring, is to just retire overseas as an expat. The dollar goes further, and you are not under the jurisdiction of US family court judges. If the woman wants your financial support to continue, she needs to keep you happy.
Looking at things realistically, from the point of view of a young woman who has just graduated, or is soon to graduate from college.
1) There is a good chance she is in debt with a student loan. “Seven in 10 college seniors (71%) who graduated last year had student loan debt, with an average of $29,400 per borrower.”
2) The average young man her age also has a substantial student loan debt. Together they would owe about $60,000. If both of them have degrees in the humanities, their average starting salary (gross) is about $37,000, after taxes, about $15,000 (net). Total net, $30,000. And about half of that will go to apartment rental. Reduced even further by food, transportation, and Obamacare medical insurance.
3) The bottom line is their typical American dream has been derailed. It might be a decade before they could even consider children. And that is assuming they both stay employed.
Enter the sugar daddy. He is not the handsome young man who is her first choice, but he offers reasonable prosperity and stability. He might eliminate her student debt.
Though most here would be incredulous, many sugar daddies are far less interested in sex than friendship. Often they spent their lives becoming wealthy, instead of marrying and having children, so they want to do so vicariously through others. They missed out on the emotions of life.
So their relationship with the young woman is to steer her on the right path, like a foster father. He may guide her to good quality employment, if he is networked with the business community. He may vet her boyfriends, and even buy her far more of a wedding than she could have had otherwise.
Sounds utterly impossible, but it does happen.
I even knew of one such sugar daddy, who was extraordinary even by this standard. He owned an upscale home near a college campus, and recruited girls who were business majors to be his “mistresses”. In exchange, they would live in that house, eat good meals, get fine clothes and drive a nice car.
His ulterior motive was not sex, however. Once they graduated, he hired them to be executives in one of his companies. After frustrating years of trying to recruit talent, and getting crap, he found out this way was a lot cheaper and more reliable, getting talented subordinates he could trust and were honest.
No doubt there are a lot of pudgy, balding middle aged sugar daddies who want hookers as well. But you never know.
At least Atlanta is number 1 in something, certainly not baseball or professional football.
Answer: The same kind of girls that are graduating from our finer academies of higher learning with advanced degrees in "Women's Studies". Once these little darlings get exposed to life in the real world this kind of arrangement must make a perfect kind of sense to them.
