Ah Crap! Look what happened when the price of copper went up. Plumbing in houses being stolen. Looks like cattle rustling going to be in vogue again.

I only rustle cattle so I have company at home.

I'm lonely.

Don't care how expensive meat becomes, nobody will want to rustle Obola's wife.

Not in Memphis TN, food prices have risen while gas prices have declined.

It's weird! When everyone else was reporting excessive price hikes, I wasn't seeing it. Yeah, prices went up, but slowly.

But NOW, when everyone else is saying things are leveling or dropping, NOW it went up by 25% to 50%, sometimes 100%.

Ditto here. A few years ago, my local grocery store created a very visible clearance section where all the "expires tomorrow" meats can be found. As someone mentioned on a thread earlier this year, thrift and discount stores are a booming business.

Wonder if this is due to low crop yields for feed from the drought and/or diverting feed grain to ethanol production?

A lot of food prices have stabilized or come down....and oil has come down...so the American dollar answer isn’t the whole story.

Not in Southern California they haven't.

The actual rate of inflation, that is... devaluation of the U.S. Dollar through endless "Quantitative Easing" stimulus made by the Federal Reserve Bank.

Or Gorebull Warming... depends who you believe.

probably not the most opportune time for the federales to announce the COLA for SS/VA to increase 1.7% because the cost of living increase is just so low.

“Then, what’s driving gasoline down ?”

China is drilling for their own oil, so they are not buying it elsewhere, which is causing a surplus.
