I would NOT be surprised if the GOP takes the Senate that Harry Reid may just announce his retirement.

If I was the new Majority Leader in that case, I’d open up several panels into corruption on the part of the former Majority leader and keep them going until the next election was over.

I don’t see Reid retiring. I think he likes the trappings of power. Having said that, it may depend on who replaces him. If the Governor of Nevada appoints a replacement for a retiring Senator, then there’s no way Reid retires. The Governor of Nevada is a Republican. If, however, the state doesn’t appoint a replacement but instead holds an election then maybe Reid retires if he handpicks the Democrat nominee. Ultimately, I don’t think he retires.

Only after he confirms Eric Holder as Ginsburg’s replacement in the lame duck session .
