Prayers
Praying for you, FRiend.
Prayers for a successful procedure.
I had a spinal fusion from L4-S1 twenty one years ago at the age of 35 because I could no longer hold my tiny 1 year old daughter and I only regret that I didn’t do it 15 years sooner.
The recovery was a bit tough for the first three months, but after that I just felt better and better until about 18 months later I realized I no longer thought of myself as having a back problem and it’s been good ever since.
I will warn you, though, that the day after the operation I thought I had made the stupidest decision of my life. So don’t despair if the recovery doesn’t go as fast as you want. Follow the doctor’s instructions to the letter, especially the ones about not lifting any weight and going to physical therapy.
I’ll reiterate what others have said about improved techniques since then, too.
I’ll be praying for you.
Prayers for wise surgeons, compassionate nurses, and fast healing!
As soon as they start the IV, ask for something to take the edge off.
Whole bunch of old ladies at my prayer group in the morning will be praying for you. You’ll be fine and out there getting rid of the bad guys again before you know it.
You’re right, he is. It will be endoscopic. The Doctor has a really good reputation in the area. I’m starting to feel more confident after your and other posts. Thank you.

prayers up.
and don’t stress about posting tomorrow, just say MADE IT! and we’ll have enough until you’re not so loopy recovering.
Been there before (L4 and L5); best of luck with your surgery and subsequent recovery.
Prayers sent.
You’re in my prayers. Hope the procedure is successful.
May you have a speedy recovery.
good luck and prayers too!
Prayers ascending. I had a laminectomy in ‘97. Great surgery! I walked within 30 minutes of leaving the recovery room. I was hefting 40lb. air tanks for SCUBA the next summer.
Had double discectomy, bone spurs removed, pinched nerve released!
Back to work in 6 wks.
That was 9 years ago. Still fine.
Father God,
Your servant “Celtic Conservative” needs to feel Your presence near him tonight and tomorrow as he undergoes a cautionary experience.
Father, as we intercede for him, in Your great mercy please guide CC, his doctors and all medical caregivers, his insurers and all healthcare administrators handling his case, so that his infirmities will be healed and his recovery complete.
We praise Your mighty power, wisdom and grace in this and every challenge, and offer our profound gratitude for Your gifts of Salvation, and of life itself.
In Jesus’ holy name we pray,
Amen!
Prayer Up
He was hesitant to do the surgery because the MRI didn't show much, but he could definitely tell after he got in there that I needed the surgery.
I've got an extensive home exercise program and am in PT again. Things are going well, but not as fast as I would like, but I have other health issues that are slowing things down. I would suggest that as you are able, that you take daily walks. That way you can chart your improvement. Every couple of days, I am able to walk past one more house. My goal is to be able to walk a mile with no pain again.
Best wishes to you!
