"You're far more likely to die at this point from not receiving a flu shot," said Dr. Sampson Davis, an emergency medicine physician at Meadowlands Hospital Center in Secaucus, New Jersey.

I was handed a questionnaire at the Dr’s office yesterday, it asked if I had been in Africa (Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia) and had I been having a fever of 101 or higher. Slowly correct information will get out to everyone, Africa is a big place but Ebola is specific to certain regions

One of the MANY dangers of the Ebola panic lunacy.

Listen to scientists ... not politicians & pundits. They want to keep us scared. We are not Libtards. We are above that.

My neighbor is an RN on the third floor of one of our local hospitals

She says it will come through ER first and when she hears about she’s outta there

Can’t say I blame her one bit

It is going to be a nightmare flu season for medical people, already the calls are in the many thousands for people thinking they have ‘the Ebola’.

The screening will be exhausting for them, but the good news is that hopefully the medical world will come up with some faster, assembly line type practices and techniques that will become a part of their routine practices, and will be available to them if we ever do receive a true bio attack, or pandemic.

I went to my neurologist 2 weeks ago and no Obola type questions. Went to my PCP last week and was asked if I had been out of the country or exposed to people with Ebola.
Last night I finally did my sleep study and was asked again.

Guess it was the nurses getting sick with the gear on that decided my medical system to come up with a protocol.

I rarely leave my county unless it is to go to my doctors and shopping.

Rolla has MST and a lot of people come there from other countries so it is actually a real concern and I guess MST has been doing screenings since classes started again. They say they have no one from the affected areas but still a good thing they are being proactive.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...
