Cutting off the ring, nasty right & left hooks - something tells me that old guy has seen the inside of a ring before.

Gramps schooled that kid — it was great to see the smirk literally knocked off the whelp’s face.

The old boy can handle himself and the young one found out the hard way. LOL!

I remember reading about Jack Dempsey when he was in his late 70s being the “victim” of a mugger. He knocked the perp out cold.

He may have one bite left in him...

I have to wonder if the young guy was trying not to hurt the poor old man, and by the time the kid figured out that he was worrying about the wrong person, it was too late for him to really recover and defend himself.

Proves learning how to fight is many times more important than sheer size. I remember a few other stories about old fighters punching the lights out of much younger thugs. I also remember seeing a video some years ago of 70 year old ex-light heavyweight champ Archie Moore sparring. His hands were still lightning quick, and I would not have wanted to be in front of those fists.

It wasn't Dempsey. It was Rocky Marciano in the last years of his life.

He had gone into New York from Connecticut by train, disembarked at Grand Central, and as he was getting into a cab, two young punks got in on either side of him and tried to mug him.

He KO'd them both in the first round.

LOVE IT!!!!

I grew up playing some tennis as I had two parents who were medal winners in college. I used to think I could play. Then....my mom married my step-dad.

I asked him if he played. Thought I could beat him as he was in his early 60’s. He smeared my @ss up one side of that court and the other. Could slice the ball over the net to where it didn’t reach above an inch with a supurb top spin.

Went back home and mom asked how it went. I told her. She died laughing. “You didn’t know that he was the tennis pro for years at his local club?”

Hahahaha! He got me!

Love the man like my own father. WW2 Vet as well in the Pacific. Tough as nails.

Mid 70’s aged Jack Dempsey did kayo two punks once. It is a very well known true story known about by long time boxing fans. Rocky Marciano very well might have clobbered a pair of punks also, somewhere along the line, but I do not remember that story.

Marciano died in a plane crash the day before his 46th birthday.

While he might have knocked a couple of punks out in the last year of his life, he certainly wasn’t elderly at the time.

Now we know why laws governing assaults with one participant having boxing training are weighed differently.
