An Indian footballer has died after a backflip goal celebration went tragically wrong during a match last week in north eastern India.
Peter Biaksangzuala attempted to perform the acrobatic celebration after scoring for Bethlehem Vengthlang FC against Chanmari West FC in the 62nd minute. Biaksangzuala fell on his head badly damaging his spinal cord.
Team-mates immediately rushed to his aid and he was immediately rushed to local hospital. Unfortunately, after five days of intensive treatment, as doctors attempted to heal his injuries, the footballer passed away on Sunday morning after being put on a ventilator.

Sad.
On another note, the keeper got red carded. Admiringly, the keeper made the exact right decision, but it cost him. Good call by the ref.

Maybe the team should start with scissor kicks then graduate to back flips.

>>Exactly. I scored many goals. Hundreds over 20 years of soccer. Never slid, flipped, pumped my arms, pulled shirt up, or any other theatrics. Just headed back down to own side and resumed my position ready to do it again.

When I was 18 I tried to do a backflip off the high diving board to impress a girl.
BIG mistake! I can still feel the stinging on my back today.

Earl Campbell too. He usually just dropped the ball and went to the sideline.

Yeah, Sanders was a class act.
I will admit that on what turned out to be my last ever goal I did give a sly grin over my shoulder after burning a very good goalie for his aggressive charges at developing plays. He was good, but I had his number that day. He smiled back as a good sport should.

And then there's
this. As with the subject of this thread ... too much video, so go to the 3 minute mark for the shenanigans.

One of my piano students, a 9 year old girl, does cartwheels and backflips through the house, which has a marble floor and a sunken living room with marble steps, while I am at the piano teaching her older sister. It is not my place to tell her to stop, but she scares the bejeebers out of me when she does that.

Agreed, it would be nice to have more humility(<-).
Actually, that applies to everyone. There is too much fake puffing-up everyone does for themselves, especially young people. Courtesy of the “self-esteem” brigade.

Unitas just turned and walked off the field as Ameche scored in the ‘58 Champ game win. He was dead serious about his game. It was his work, not just a game for him.
