Footballer Dies After Unsuccessful Bakflip Goal Celebration (video)

An Indian footballer has died after a backflip goal celebration went tragically wrong during a match last week in north eastern India.
Peter Biaksangzuala attempted to perform the acrobatic celebration after scoring for Bethlehem Vengthlang FC against Chanmari West FC in the 62nd minute. Biaksangzuala fell on his head badly damaging his spinal cord.
Team-mates immediately rushed to his aid and he was immediately rushed to local hospital. Unfortunately, after five days of intensive treatment, as doctors attempted to heal his injuries, the footballer passed away on Sunday morning after being put on a ventilator.

Exactly. I scored many goals. Hundreds over 20 years of soccer. Never slid, flipped, pumped my arms, pulled shirt up, or any other theatrics. Just headed back down to own side and resumed my position ready to do it again.

Lots of sports ban backflips for that reason. Stopped on Olympic figure skating years ago, and one girl knew she messed up badly, and threw in a flip to please the crowd.
I think they said she was known to do it during the warmup skate just to intimidate her competitors.
