If, under sharia, a capital crime gets you the loss of your head (beheading), then also under sharia, if you steal Achmed’s goat, you get the loss of your hand, why is not being “behanded?”

Or, if you are caught stealing twice, is the treatment considered "even handed" because zero is not an odd number?
