Teen Who Killed Friend Over PS3 Gets Life in Prison
Comcast Sportsnet ^ | 10-17-2014

"I was still mad at Daquan for stealing and selling the game system," the confession reads. "We were walking and I dropped back a step or two and pulled out my deuce. That's my gun, it's a .22. I shot Daquan once in the back of the head and he fell to the ground."

Disturbed by the sight of Crump's lifeless body, Anderson opened fire again, emptying the gun's clip into his friend, the document reads.

"His eyes were still open and he was staring off, like into space. I couldn't leave him there and didn't want to see him like that," he allegedly told police. "I stood over him and pulled the trigger and shot him in the face until the gun stopped."

Aware of cameras in the area, Anderson told police he tucked the gun in his waistband and "hugged the bushes," the alleged confession read.

Anderson allegedly told police he found out about the PS3's sale the day before the shooting and had asked Crump twice about getting his money. Crump told Anderson he would get his cut after the two robbed their friend's house, according to the documents.

Sounds like Daquan paid with his life over a video game.

Hardly. He paid with life for shafting his homie out of half a share of a fenced piece of consumer electronics. What's that worth - $50, maybe $75 at best?

“Daquan and Malik, who were childhood friends, had conspired to steal another childhood friend’s PlayStation console game,” Clark said. “Allegedly Daquan carried out this plan alone without Malik.”

“Sounds like Daquan paid with his life over a video game. Sheesh...,....”

But it was the principle of it all. Principle, you dis me
you die. It’s all about honor. It’s all about being labeled
a victim all your life and getting one upped by your
worthless so called friend. It’s the criminal code where
life, other than your own, has no value. This just happens
to be the same attitude the Obama has for this country.
You dis me you die. You give me a 38% approval after
all I did for you. I’ll show you. I’ll get you in a way
your guns can’t protect you.

I’m surprised he hit him at all considering they usually hold their guns sideways.

There is no honor among thieves. I worked in LE and that is the absolute truth. Virtually all home invasions in our area were criminal on criminal. And when someone goes to jail, his "friends" steal what little he has. As far as your friends visiting you in jail, either the car is broken or there isn't enough money for gas. And when several criminals get arrested for the same crime, it's a race to see who can rat out who for a lighter sentence.

Nice touch about referring to him as a “teen” when he’s almost 20. Yes, he is technically a teenager, but he’s considered to be an adult at that age. An adult who will be warehoused for the rest of his life at great cost to the taxpayer.

Thermal equilibrium? The PS3 was running a temperature, and Daquan assumed room temperature.

Official Justice Dept. statistics reveal blacks commit murder at a rate greater than seven times the rate of whites.

They should as a race in America, own that fact. Their leaders should work to lower that murder rate.

“There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery. Then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved.... After all we have been through. Just to think we can’t walk down our own streets, how humiliating.”

Remarks at a meeting of Operation PUSH in Chicago (27 November 1993). Quoted in “Crime: New Frontier - Jesse Jackson Calls It Top Civil-Rights Issue” by Mary A. Johnson, 29 November 1993, Chicago Sun-Times (ellipsis in original). Partially quoted in “In America; A Sea Change On Crime” by Bob Herbert, 12 December 1993, New York Times.

What a pair! One is dead and the other will likely be locked up for life. Society will not be missing anything good.

Under Sharia, Daquan would have merely lost a hand.

If, under sharia, a capital crime gets you the loss of your head (beheading), then also under sharia, if you steal Achmed’s goat, you get the loss of your hand, why is not being “behanded?”

Or, if you are caught stealing twice, is the treatment considered "even handed" because zero is not an odd number?

If you end up “even handed” in any sharia country, you would indeed be in a world of hurt. Your momma or your squeeze could feed you, but when it comes to matters of personal hygiene, well, that’s when you learn who your REAL friends are.
