The De Palma movie with Kirk Douglas? Decidedly lackluster IMHO. I’d skip it were I to do it again.

“Anyone else seen Fury”

Yes. In the eyes of my ex-wife.

I haven’t seen it, and I’m not sure I will.

I can no longer suspend my disbelief as I watch known douchebags pretend to be heroes.

The tankers who rode in Shermans called them ‘Ronsons’ (after the lighter) because they caught fire so easily when going up against German tanks with 88 mm guns and high velocity long barrel 75s, the Panther.
American, British tankers: heroes; American actors: zeroes.
I’ll see it when it’s on Netflix.

I’m going to see it. Maybe Sunday with my shooting buddy.

The years of war veteran Hollywood actors are long gone. You have to deal with what is left. If these kind of movies make money, maybe they’ll make more of them.

I would like to but I am a little gunshy after the likes of U-571 and Pearl Harbor.

Still a tank movie is a good departure.

I also recommend for those that have not seen it, “The Beast” about a Russian tank crew in Afghanistan.

Some of the action in the preview scenes seem good, but that may be all there is. In thinking about the premise, a Sherman tank with a busted tread defending some crossroad, my first thought is that it really won’t involve any confrontation with German tanks. If it does, then it would seem a little far fetched to me. The one advantage a Sherman had over a German beast was speed, and with that gone, it would be a turkey shoot. What beat the Germans was numbers of Shermans, not firepower.

Also, one of the best tank movies I’ve seen is “The Beast” about a Russian tank in Afghanistan (disabled) trying to get away from the Mujahadin rebels.

Yes I realize this is an older thread. But will say wife and I both enjoyed it tremendously. Very realist and well done. One of the better war movies I have seen in awhile... for the record I hate that Shia idiot...but he did well in this movie.
Very surprised this was much better than I was expecting...
