Downloaded with no difficulty. Not sure I like the gray-on-gray text in the toolbar and the tabs, tho. Any way to get a legacy look to that?

Any improvements to Apple Mail? Email for me has been erratic since I got Mavericks: e.g., delayed downloads, delayed display of mail folders. Rebuilding mail folders didn’t help.

I thought you could still have icons on the Desktop. Taking that away is absurd.

I thought you could still have icons on the Desktop. Taking that away is absurd. It would be. They didn't do it. I'm looking at my desktop icons in Yosemite right now. I think there is a setting, on by default, that hides them -- wherever such a setting might be, I would have set it years ago.

I upgraded my mid-2010 iMac this evening, and was disappointed to find that Handoff isn’t supported on it. It has to have Bluetooth 4.0, which didn’t come to the iMac until 2012.

The new Finder is a window. No icons are shown on the Desktop. The Finder has always been a window when you manipulate files. . . but icons and the menu on the Desktop and the Desktop itself, are all part of Finder. You can even open a "Desktop Window" showing the desktop files in icon, list, or heirarchal tree format. You can choose to put things on the desktop, or not. Apple is defaulting to not show the internal, external, and connected hard drives on the desktop since OS X Snow Leopard. It is, however easily turned back on under Finder preferences. Click on the desktop and you'll see the menu says Finder. Under that, you'll see Finder Preferences. . .

It is time for me to look at a replacement though. Its almost 7 years old... Looking at the new 5K Retina 27 iMac I am drooling about it, too. But really can't justify it for the 5K monitor.

I'm still exploring. I was hoping to spend some time as a beta-tester on this release but I got involved in a major remodel of one of my rental properties during that time. . . so I just didn't have time.

I installed Yosemite. After a year of struggling with Apple Mail under Mavericks, everything is back to normal. Until this update I was pretty much resigned to Gmail.

Just noticed that when I hit Post last time,
the Post" box changed color so I had an instantaneous indication that the click had taken..
Could this be the end of the multiple post bane, for Mac users at least?
