Personally I like to hike some (although not too far). I’m about 6 foot - 230 pounds - of German/Scotch/Irish descent (big boned). I’m fairly well muscled but do have a decent layer of fat on me.

I tend to lump statements like “I’d sooner die slowly of starvation than eat a dead human” in with the perennial favorite “I’d sooner die than shoot somebody”.
Intended as a point of pride, but actually illustrative of a degenerate, weak, collectivist mindset. The kind of person who requires bigger men to protect them and provide for them.

Does any modern American know for sure what they would do if they went without food for 10 or 15 hours?
In New Orleans it wasn’t until the third day after the restaurants and fast food places had been shut down or destroyed and people were being forced to eat canned goods and MREs, that the media started reporting that cannibalism was being forced on the people in the Coliseum.
Personally, I think that I could hold out for over three days, especially if there were some MREs to help me remain steadfast in my resolve not to kill and eat people.

This is a silly thread. Nobody knows for certain what they will do when starving if they have never starved.
The things that people eat (or attempt to eat) when starving is striking. Having read enough history, I know that making predictions on behavior while starving, while never having experienced starvation, is a pointless exercise.
