NOTE: If someone knows how to post a screen cap image, of this link, please do.
Why? Perhaps there is more to this story than the eye can see. Consider the time stamp on the SFGate (San Francisco!) report and contrast with the time of Duncan's passing. The stock exchange was aware of his demise hours prior to the msm announcements.
Jessie Jackson didn't offer his, uh, 'services' to Duncan's family until the final hour.
Begs the question...Did he have inside information about Duncan's imminent demise?
Ebola survivor Kent Brantly has donated blood to a fellow patient for the second time. This time, Brantly, a physician, donated blood to an NBC cameraman who also contracted the virus while working in Liberia.
Racist!!!
The Israeli National News was probably telling the truth a few days ago. I thought this Dallas case could be a hoax. I may have been wrong about that. We will see.
Hardy was treated successfully for "adenovirus -- a common virus that causes colds"
How is 'adenovirus' related to Ebola? Why would the medical profession think it was the only pharmaceutical which could save this child?
They had better guard that test patch which I'm sure they are. I suppose you can just chew on the leaves or smoke the stuff. It will be interesting to find out more about it as time goes by.
Exactly. But it’s backfiring. Today, Tekmira, the small Canadian company producing Ebola drug, saw it’s shares skyrocket to $23.80. Wish I’d bought it at $13 a few weeks ago.
If a freeper would kindly post the images of the above charts, it may help with determining when the stock market became aware of Duncan's demise.
I think it likely the Israelis do know the truth about everything going on in this country before we do.
Chimerix chart suggests the time of Duncan's demise was acknowledged approximately 11:15 a.m.
Yet, the SFGate financial report was time stamped 8:20 a.m.
Time zone difference?
It was an antiviral.
What I’d like to know is why they didn’t use the antiviral that Japan has offered to treat ebola. Japan has enough to treat 20K patients and has offered it to anyone who asks.
But, it’s Not Invented Here as usual in general.
What I want to know is what the family is going to do when they find out that ZMapp was gone for Duncan but apparently there was ‘the very last dose’ (we promise, really, the last one!) for a Norwegian nurse diagnosed AFTER Duncan:
http://www.thelocal.no/20141007/norwegian-ebola-victim-to-get-worlds-last-dose-of-zmapp?
And most of these antivirals are very time sensitive. This particular one may work IF given between Days 1 and X where X is probably 5 or less. If given after, no dice.
Now that’s interesting. I’m sure none of the inside traders in our government own any shares of Tekmira. That would be dishonest or something...
A link to this thread has been posted on the Ebola Surveillance Thread
ZMapp is a DARPA project!

Martha Stewart went to prison for this.
Day traders aren’t good for investments.
I never understood why she went to jail when so many others face no consequences.
I didn't really understand too much about how QE1 worked so plead ignorance to VE1.
First CHMX is one that dropped, can't remember the other symbol. But the bio engineered tobacco one ZMAPP seems to be a winner but it might be a private company.
The market is really a seesaw. I know the usual factors affect the market annoying that it is. And so do unexpected bad news affect the market. Some bad news is good for the market and vice versa.
All in all, if one can get in sync, a volatile up one day down the next market can work in some good plays. Noon EST seems like a good time to watch for lows but can't count on anything.
What I really really don't like is that I sit here and kinda wish for a mini collapse at least and a lot of little people would get hurt by that so that's selfish of me. But the market works on that, too.
It's amazing how fast some investors jump on information they recognize as good news. Look at how the volume went up in that chart! I can successfully trade on lower volumes though if I pick right.
My tried and true except XONE are too stable so unless they have good dividends, I'm too impatient in an unstable market.
The ones I'm watching are F, CBI and XONE. F doesn't do much, CBI was 80 not too long ago; now it's 50 something. XONE I probably should leave alone.
Ones I have seen I missed the boat on are HPQ (although they were down yesterday because they are going to split out (don't know if in stocks, but in functions) into to administrative parts but I did well when I sold out, just should have jumped right back in and rode it up some more.
The other one was Alcoa. It vacillated between 7, 8 and 9 for some months with bad dividends so I left it alone. Now it's up in the teens. I screwed up on WAG too by procrastinating. Really almost everything was a good buy when I got out in retrospect.
Wish I knew how to do options. I don't want to sign up on another exchange but when corn is 2.99 it seems only logical to do a call on it for July.
Even though not cost effective, I'm wondering if I should pay for storage for up to a couple years which would mean a loss as a hedge against disaster of some other sort. I don't want to play in the metals market for personal reasons.
plead ignorance to VE1.
you going to tell these guys what VE is?
LOL!! Pardon my bloated ego thinking everyone was memorizing what I put in the daily investor thread ping, VE was at the bottom: ..."Verbal Easing" (FORGET QE: The Next Move From The Fed Is Going To Be 'VE') shows just how touchy we've all gotten... The irony is that I'd been wondering what's going to happen to the moneysupply becuase what little growth we had was from all that QE money printing, but now I see that instead of money out of thin air we'll instead be getting FMOC minutes filled w/ hot air that seem to work even better!
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
