That is gonna be GREAT Tellie!
Stuff like that can happen in a Third World banana republic.
Ratings ploy?
The idiot producers were asking for it. That’s like driving through Catholic and Protestant neighborhoods in Northern Ireland making fun of the Troubles or wearing a white robe and hood in Harlem — you’re needlessly trying to provoke a fight just to get better TV ratings.
They somehow forgot Basil Fawlty’s classic advice. “Whatever you do, don’t mention the war”.
Argentina, once a glittering jewel of capitalism, is now a third world hellhole.
Like when they drove through Vietnam with a motor scooter painted with an American flag. Or when they drove through some southern states with “NASCAR SUCKS” painted on a car.
Ok so can someone translate the insult carried in the letter/number combo in this plate?
I see from this thread this show has a long history of trying to provoke locals.. that said ..again...can someone translate the insult carried in the letter/number combo in this plate?
Clarkson’s an eh whole.
Perhaps Top Gear deserved to be sued by Elon Musk / Tesla.
I was giving Top Gear the benefit of the doubt, but that doubt has been eroded.
Once again poor James May and Richard Hammond are left in the dust of Clarkson’s raging ego. Then again, Clarkson did rise to semi-hero status in my opinion when he busted a move on Piers Morgan several years back at the time when Piers was actually somebody as editor of the Daily Mirror. Given my druthers, I’d much rather be in Clarkson’s presence than Morgan’s but that is probably the majority view here in FReeper land!
I think the main argument for it being a coincidence is that it’s way too subtle for the TG crew. When they want to send some sort of message they generally paint it right on the side of the car, the most they do to “hide” something is make it so the message part is on the door so it blends until the door is open. They aren’t into complex decyphers that require you to remember H comes before I making it 1982.
