Sorry dude, paterno failed. He turned a blind eye when he could have used his position to stop the abuse of the kids. He knew it was happening.

I'm sorry it brings a stain to penn state but it's what happens when good doesn't confront evil.

You know nothing about this case. Why do you think the ncaa walked back their sanctions, genius? Good behavior? It had nothing to do with the Mitchell Report, rather the fact that they are facing depositions in (now) 3 different suits - all of which they are vulnerable.

Keep whistling whatever you choose - it doesn’t make it correct.

A quote from Joe Paterno in an old Sports illustrated Issue regarding various NCAA violations, (Long before and unrelated to Sandusky’s crap), being looked into at the time: “Ive never blown the whistle on anyone yet”, said Joe Paterno, “and I never will”. Yep. Joe KNEW....you are damn right he knew. Child sexual abuse is an absolutely horrible thing to even think about. For anyone to cover that up is flat out pure evil.

Again, what the NCAA has done completely is irrelevant. It’s indicative of the weakness of the pro-Paterno argument that his supporters keep returning to it. Again, who cares what the NCAA bureaucracy did? It’s just another failed bureaucracy, much like a certain football program that employed child molesters, and whose nominal head allowed it to happen.

Could this be one reason why you didn’t get a big response to your prior article on this topic?

No, try college football........some people have lives.

But then I could counter with where were those folks who disagree with Florida Joe?

I don’t understand how you can say the things you say.

If you can stand the ignorance, try looking at a liberal website discussing George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin. You'll see the same pattern.........

Thou doth protest too much.

Are you drawing a paycheck from Penn State?

Is that all the argument you have to offer? If so, epic fail!

FlJoePA has offered more evidence supporting Coach Paterno than all the ad hominem attacks and lame arguments that have been thrown at him.

Thanks FlJoePA for your continued support of a great man........

The irony of your campaign to "rehabilitate" the reputation of your deceased hero ball coach is that people eventually will forget about Paterno's role in enabling the pedophile Jerry Sandusky to operate at Penn State for a number of years.

But for some reason, you are insisting upon keeping the question of Paterno's involvement alive and inflaming passions, when otherwise it would slowly fade from people's memory. Much like how Ted Williams is mostly remembered today as a great ballplayer when years ago, he was more known for being a jerk with the media and having his head cryogenically frozen.

All this obsession for a ball coach. I'll never understand it. I like sports as much as the next guy but I'm not collecting baseball cards, wearing jerseys and seeking out autographs. I leave that for the 12-year-old boys.

Joe Paterno was a ball coach. He conducted practices, recruited high school boys and put a competitive ball team on the field for one of the larger universities in the Northeast. He also looked the other way when one of his staffers was serially molesting those boys, taking showers with them and engaging in disgusting sex acts with them. Maybe Paterno didn't think it was any of his business. Or more likely, maybe he didn't want to tarnish the reputation of his employer, and his "legacy."

Anyway, he made his choices and he had to live with them during his remaining days. Just like the Catholic church, when they made the mistake of trying to sweep their issue of pedophile priests under the rug. They made a bad decision and they took their lumps and moved on. Now the Catholic church is mostly back to normal and their churches are crowded once again.

Just like the stands of Penn State will be crowded once again for the Saturday ball games. People are going to forget and move on. So let it go. Just let it go.

Lack of responses from your regular supporters is to be expected on a Saturday or Sunday. Especially now that I saw my Lions lose and anticipating a loss by my Tigers........

I'm not really a football fan but PS and Coach Paterno were always at the top of my favorites.........and he and they still are.

You say, "evidence?" Such as the stuff that is found in court? How come these threads never talk about court?

I first met Jimmy Cefalo in the late 80’s. When did you meet him and find him credible/not credible? Or are you just flexing your daily kos-like media muscles?

He knew it was happening. How do you know that? I am unaware of any evidence or testimony that directly links Joe Paterno to Sandusky's activities...Saying Paterno knew would be like me saying that you knew, why didn't you do something...

Don’t confuse him with facts. Like I said - 3 court cases moving forward involving the ncaa, psu bot, freeh, and even pa oag all facing discovery/deposition.

But I’m crazy. Yeah...I’m not the one facing a subpoena.

Didn't he make a call to the administration? That's all he did.

. If this were my school I'd be ashamed and would do everything to expunge the memory and record of these events.

He reported it to campus police, which he was required to do by state law...This was documented...

What did MM tell JVP eagleknowall? Were you there? Forget 11 year later testimony from an 84 year old.

What did MM tell JVP? Untill we know exactly that, we involve ourselves in reckless speculation.

The PA OAG has an opportunity to tell us what MM said (the Curley/Schultz/Spanier trials), but they obviously don’t have any evidence - or they’d have prosecuted the case by now (it’s been nearly 3 years).

Does this tell you anything?

Ask FlJoe, he's posted the answer to your question ad nauseum around here.............

Did you ever bother to read them?
