“If he pulled the trigger then he didn’t “accidentally” fire the gun.”

Exactly right. There is no such thing as an accident.

Things like this occur because somebody did something that was illogical, illegal or just downright ignorant.

Then they try to blame it on the “accident” gods like some mystical being reached in and ripped control of the situation out of their hands.

I own several Berettas.

In 30 years I’ve never had a ND with any of them.

Whatever happened to the good ‘ol REVOLVER??? It is hard to get an AD with one of those.

BTW—the ONLY ADs that I have witnessed in the last 20+ years were with Glocks. Just saying.

The thing I really don’t like about Glocks is that, to carry one ready to go with a chambered round, I would have to carry it fully cocked where any accidental touch on the trigger will discharge it. My Beretta, OTOH, can be carried and stored with a chambered round, not cocked, and still be discharged with a firm pull on the DA trigger, a far better approach that greatly minimizes the risk of an accidental discharge.

He could certainly pull the trigger accidentally, which caused the gun to fire when that was not intended.

Where my husband and I lived (for a short while) carrying a gun was essential. The lumber and fishing industries had disappeared from our town so the young men of the town turned to the manufacture, growing, sale and distribution of the illegal "cash crops."
THUS, weapons were needed to deal with life.

Husband passed. I sold all his guns and now live in a very safe, quiet neighborhood.

P.S. I also had sold his pellet gun...a mistake. I bought another one to keep the DANG crows and raves away. That does work as I most fortuitously and totally by accident happened to HIT a crow with my new pellet gun.
It didn't kill him or even knock him out of the sky. But, both ravens and crows have "facial recognition" and when my pellet gun and I appear, they all just FLYYYYY away.

I bought the pellet gun on Amazon.com and the photo of the pellet gun was miniscule. When I opened the box I saw, with shock, that the pellet gun was a REPLICA of a Mag .44, ole DIRTY HARRY model.
Now I love my lil ole Mag .44!

Life is good.

=================================

Lol. I go out to the beach and walk almost every day and when some crow or raven SQUAWKS loudly at me for no apparent reason, I KNOW that s/he is squawking at me as the owner of said PELLET PISTOL.

It was a Cop with a Glock. Have seen two A.D. at the range and both were cops. A sheriff shot the floor but the draw was fast. The other was a townie that shot the wall as he was messing around with the sight. And yes this is why I CCL the Springfield Armory XDM-40.

Actually, the Glock is striker fired and not fully cocked even when a round is chambered.

Manufacturers such as Kahr Arms, Beretta, and Springfield Armory all utilize similar variations of this function. For example, Springfield’s XD series fully tensions the firing pin spring upon chambering a round, compared to Glock’s partial tension until the trigger pulls and increases the spring tension.

Interesting point. If during a class there was a pre-planned discharge hitting a predetermined target (doll?)... that would be effective.

If he pulled the trigger then he didn’t “accidentally” fire the gun. They are designed to work that way.

Yep, there is not such thing as an accidental discharge only negligent ones.

"All weapons are LOADED until you personally ensure otherwise each and every time it re-enters your possession!"

Incorrect.

"All weapons are loaded EVEN AFTER you personally ensure it is not."

Once I followed this rule, I never again had an ND.
