Thanks for the update. Hope she’s back on FR soon. Back in 2010, I ended up in the emergency room with a perforated bowel caused by diverticulitis. Had to have a temporary colostomy, which was fortunately reversed three months later. It was not a pleasant experience, nor was the third surgery I had to undergo to repair an incisional hernia where the previous two surgeries had been. I still have to watch what I eat.

Gefn, I have a friend whose husband has diverticulitis. He’s a very active guy, he gets along fine...just has to watch his diet. Don’t worry, you’re going to be fine.

Prayers going up....., In Jesus Holy Name

Baking soda does wonders for failing Kidneys. It even can get some folks off from dialysis. Docs know little about it's marvelous ability to help failing kidneys because it isn't medicine so it is rarely taught or discussed in medical circles.

Here are a few articles inre of baking soda and kidney failure. They don't really address how amazing it's help to the kidney often is, but at least they are agreeing that it does/can help.

You can, I believe, use potassium bicarb if you are worried about too much sodium intake, although people have reported that baking soda doesn't seem to affect them the same way as other sodium does. I don't know about it and can only say what others have reported. Potassium bicarb can be ordered over the net. For those who want to use baking soda it is recommended to use an organic baking soda that isn't processed with aluminum.

The hardest thing about knowing wonderful natural helps for people with health issues is how few will do them because their doctors are ill informed and recommend against them. It is sad to see people's health deteriorate due to ignorance when they could be doing so much better.

Of course you can find the usual article that detracts from any natural substance that really works. All you have to do is ask people who don't need dialysis after taking it for a while. If you are interested in an article that detracts from taking baking soda for kidneys this is one, but even it isn't too detracting.
