Today is National Homemade Cookie Day. Do you have a favorite Cookie? (with or without gluten)

Today is National Cookie Day. Most everyone has a favorite cookie, some are homemade and other Combo-Cookies can only be made by well oiled machines. I enjoy some of everything once in a while. There are Chocolate Chips, Peanut Butter, Sugar, Sugar with White Confectioner's Powder on top, Fudge, Caramel Nut, and an entire constellation of Oatmeal recipies, some with raisins and nuts, some plain. One of my favorites is anything using that thin flaky dough found in Baklava recipies. I think that dough is called Phyllo. This is a lightweight flavor vehicle that can ride down either Sweet Street or Beefy Boulevard and be a perfect fit for whatever food it is wrapped around. What would your nominees be for today's Celebration Cookie?

I like plain vanilla wafers with a pat of peanut butter and a cold class of milk.

Many schools do not allow anything home baked to be brought to the class room. Everything must be factory wrapped.

Boiled chocolate cookies; Drop chocolate cookies; Oatmeal Chocolate drop cookies.....all the same ingredients but different names. I can’t make them at home because I will eat them before they are all cooled.

Perhaps these schools ‘will not allow’ certain treats, but if these kids are anything like my group was, students can be masterful at smuggling, veiling or disguising things while in plain view of everybody. Some kids take a prideful delight in how well they can ‘trick the teachers’ into allowing for the free movement of contraband, right under their noses.

There is nothing better than the Tollhouse Cookie recipe on the Nestle Chocolate Chips bag. Just use real butter instead of margarine or shortening.

I’d pretty much run down my friends, in-laws and most relatives for a package of Stella D’Oro Vanilla Margherite cookies. OMG, they are good.

I’ve always thought if I started a business, it may have to do with food. I know ‘too much’ about making (and eating!) food. There is still time to experiment at the local Farmer’s Markets. But first, I would need a Food handler’s Permit, I think.

Yep, they're good, all right.

It's also tasty to add cocoa to the batter, and substitute Reese's peanut butter chips for the chocolate chips.

But I think my favorite is the M&M cookie.

This whole gluten thing is crap. Less than 1% of the population is affected by gluten intolerance.

The rest are sheep following the crowd.

I like to add pecans or walnuts.
But other than that, I can’t make myself to make any further changes.
