What type of effect does the Ebola announcement have on politics in general and this November’s election specifically?

That was Johnny McStupid leading that charge to failure.

I think you can throw all the polls out right now, things just changed at 5:30 PM with CDC press conference.

How did they change? Please explain.

Panic for one and the possibility that more people are affected than we currently know right now. Throw in a 24 hour news cycle and something that has not happened in recent memory and you have a good basis for what happened last week or 2 weeks ago to be not longer relevant.

Ebola in Dallas/Fort Worth and it is probably going to spread considering how Patient Zero got here and that he was sent home from the ER the first time he was there. It is going to affect the GOTV effort.

How is it a “comeback” when they are already a majority?

lol

Well, its up to the GOP to place the blame firmly where blame belongs - with open borders Obama and the democrats. I doubt the feckless GOPe would do that because their beltway consultants dont get it.

I believe that November 3rd is going to be a shock for Repubs. I see the Repubs actually loosing a seat or two in the Senate and barely holding the House (if they are lucky).

The only thing that might change this is (and I heard this today at work), that when the new health care premiums for employer coverage come out this Oct. people will go Ape $hit!

Apparently my company is looking at a 3 fold increase in the employee’s portion starting January if we want to keep the same type of plan we have now. We may even have our deductibles increase from $3,000 to $5,000 per family plan as well.

If that doesn’t light a fire under people’s backsides I don’t know what will.

I’m sure you believe it...do you have and links, sources, background to point us to other than what you believe?

In that case, many people won’t be going to work or shopping, etc.

I’m often called a RINO because I will vote for the republican in the general election no matter what.

But when the GOP calls for money now, I say I will not contribute because they are not conservative enough. When they argue I say thanks for calling and hang up.

The only ones I hate worse than republicans are democrats. The GOP’s failure to simply stand up for what is best for America is disgraceful. They are afraid of offending anyone and so they are providing leadership for no one.

All that being said, I think the GOP will win the Senate and the democrats’ focus on the Senate could yield the Dems a disaster in the House.

If we can’t overcome the margin of fraud, yes.

Goper!!! Yikes!!!
No, I don’t like that at all. I want a Ted Cruz - Trey Gowdy ticket in 2016. That’s where my head is at.

No hard feelings. But we have to be realistic. We don’t have a critical mass of conservatives in the Senate yet. It is still a GOPe Senate on our side. And that GOPe Senate gave Obama exactly ZERO votes fior Obamacare. There is a difference between Harry and Mitch. Not as much as you and I would like but a difference nevertheless.

I feel it. Call it a premonition but I don’t see anyone care about voting this year. No one gives a rats-backside about voting because they see it as making no difference.

I can think of one very specific effect. The UK has banned flights from Liberia, and Serra Leone. If we had done the same, we would not be in this boat right now.

Certain republicans I will not vote for. As in the pro amnesty crew. But what disturbs me here at FR is the talk of voting for democrats to teach the GOP a lesson. I would sooner be beheaded by ISIS.
