The man who jumped the White House fence this month and sprinted through the front door made it much farther into the building than previously known, overpowering one Secret Service officer and running through much of the main floor, according to three people familiar with the incident.

For those of you who follow such things .... without blaming it on ineptness or change of policy ... Why do you suppose they opted to tackle an armed intruder inside the White house and not shoot him like that poor women who threw a U-turn at the White house gate and was subsequently gunned down blindly in her car while her baby miraculously survived?

My guess is one reason is the SS likes to have people to interrogate for assassination attempts or likely assassination attempt. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't SOP to try and capture and not kill the assailants.

Another thought it, the poor women represented an altogether different threat to Obama.

Maybe a lot of agents were punished for overreacting in that case, so the unspoken message went out, “don’t shoot?”

Obviously the Secret Service is incompetent.
Obviously Dear Leader needs his own personal military units.
That have sworn loyalty to him personality.
Sort of like Hitler’s SS.

Who was the last assassin who either attempted or succeeded in assassinating the president who wasn’t captured alive?

Good question! They sure blew away that delusional mom in her car last year. And she was no assassin, just drove the wrong way.

Uyeah it’s commensurate with that incident with the won’s SS not knowing that the white hut had been shot up until house keeping noticed the damage. ¿

There was no Secret Service for Abraham Lincoln. Booth had barricaded himself in a barn that was set on fire by Union soldiers, then he was shot by a union soldier.

In my opinion, we have see a marked decrease in efficiency in the Secret Service since it was removed from the Treasury Dept and put under control of Homeland Security. Homeland Security, the most inefficient, worst managed, worst department in the federal government without question.
I believe this also applies to every agency under the Homeland Security banner. The only possible exception would be TSA since they could not possibly have gotten any worse and if memory serves, they started life under the Homeland Security banner.

The Secret Sevice has a horrible record for protection.

They spend too much time reading posts and not enough looking out the windows.

Imagine ten guys hoping the fence at the same.

Probably don’t want to shoot inside the residence. Or shoot at someone who might be wearing explosives.

I never have understood why they killed the woman in the car. Trigger happy after the exciting pursuit I suppose.

I can think of two explanations for the latest incident. Simple incompetence... is generally the most likely explanation for any situation involving any government agency or the military. I say that as someone who spent 25 years working for a local government in a fire department.

The less likely explanation is that the guys who are protecting Obama are as sick of him as the rest of us and have less commitment to their mission than one would normally expect. It is rather shocking that a guy who has gone looney tunes could infiltrate so far into a secure area in the Whitehouse. Kim Jong-un, Putin, Ali Khamenei, Bashar al-Assad, the leaders of Isil and all of the USA’s other greatest enemies all perceive Obama as the weakest president in the history of the USA. So I doubt whether Obama is under any increased danger because of this incident.
