I note that she was sentenced to less than two years in jail. Clearly, there are facts I do not know that may affect the length of the sentence, but if this were a male teacher with female victims I highly doubt the teachers would have received less than two years.
I haven't explored them fully, but I've seen studies that men receive 63% longer sentences than women for committing the same crimes.
