Don’t think Americans want Putin to have any influence in the U.S. and are most certainly undermining his influence here. Do you therefore favor Putin orchestrating an invasion of the U.S. ?
By “kicked off these tensions” do mean the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, and the killing of thousands of Ukrainians by Russians, and the hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians who have lost their homes?

Have a look for yourself and look beyond the newspapers. I do not support what Russia has done or is doing but if you cannot see that the EU had a vested interest in aiding to destabilize Ukraine and that they were aiding in undermining the previous regime then you are bonkers and not worth talking to. There were/are a lot of Ukrainians that were happy enough with the way things were previously or would lean even more towards Russia - nice to see you standing up for Obama and the EU on this one though (or am I just doing the same as you and exaggerating on your post).
Considering all the puppet regimes the West has set up over the recent past, this isn't the best line of attack.
