A fascinating read. I was unaware of most of this. It does nothing to persuade me from the thought that the EU and the USA were trying to undermine Putin’s influence in Ukraine and that is what kicked off these tensions. The great Bumbler in Chief seems to stuff up everything he puts his grubby little fingers on. He seems to have taken a personal dislike to Putin as Bambi looks pathetic in comparison. If their was a conservative currently in the White House I wonder if there would have been a far stronger bond in the efforts to rid the world of terrorism.
Apparently you haven't been following what has been going on in Ukraine over the last 23 years. Obama didn't "kick off" these tensions. It's absurd to say that he did.
The people of Ukraine voted for independence from Russia in 1991. Just under 29 million of them voted for an independence. About 3 million voted to remain part of Russia. Since then an entire generation of Ukrainians has been born and they have no desire to be part of Russia.
Since 2000, Putin has been trying to undermine the will of the Ukrainian people.
Since Obama was elected, he has done nothing for Ukraine and the rest of Eastern Europe in its defense against Putin.

Don’t think Americans want Putin to have any influence in the U.S. and are most certainly undermining his influence here. Do you therefore favor Putin orchestrating an invasion of the U.S. ?
By “kicked off these tensions” do mean the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, and the killing of thousands of Ukrainians by Russians, and the hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians who have lost their homes?
