You guys cant be serious?

The lenghts you have to go to try to cover for Apple isnt going to sweep this under the rug.

It’s the same as the left covering for Obama’s styrofoam cup salute by digging up a photo of Bush.

Other phones bend under similar conditions and the glass breaks on the Samsung Galaxy S4. Are you disputing this? Did you watch the video?

Who’s not being serious, and who’s sweeping anything under the rug? The 6+ bent phone, all nine of them, have been plastered all over the web and social media for what, a week?

I have never ... repeat, never ... owned a phone other than a flip (or occasional small, flat thing) because I have this fear, after spending a half a mil on a fancy large screen miricle phone, I'd sit on it and break it and all my lovely, easy to view pictures would become extinct and disappear into cyberspace.

I think this technology is for people like me

Ive always said if you want to see what Freepers sound like when they act like liberal Democrats, then just find an Apple post.

The cult will literally bend every phone they can get their hands on to try to make this seem “normal”.

Your comparison does not hold water due to the fact that it would mean liberal Democrats are the ones being held to a higher standard, lol.

The real question is, will it blend?

So where are all of the reports of these phones over the past few years?

Only when Apple’s phone has this glaring issue did the fans run out to break every phone they can get their hands on to try to deflect. Do you think that your average phone user is going to care when their new iPhone is bent?

You’re holding it wrong 2.0, And Apple + the cult still blames the users until it’s too late.

No.

Just the same low standards as they expect of Obama.

When problems come up, just cover it up if you can. If not, then just call people racist (Apple haters), and try to find someway to show how everyone else supposedly have this issue, like Dems constantly refer to Bush to explain away an Obama screw-up.

Who the hell spends 3 or 4 hundred dollars for an electronic device and then tries to fold it up?

The stupid things are made of thin aluminum sheet metal and plastic. Of COURSE they’ll bend if you TRY to bend them.

Your comparison still does not hold water, VanDeKoik. You’re apparently upset because I posted a link to a video holding some other manufacturer to the same high standard to which Apple is being held. What has been covered up regarding Apple? It gets blasted all over the media. Other large “phablet” phones have the same problem. None of them have received anywhere near the publicity, to the point that it’s unknown. Why is that? Is it that no one cares, or was it swept under the rug?

I just don't get it. I'm completely uninterested in this gadget fascination... and I've been in IT for 20 years, a network engineer for almost 15. I refuse to spend more on a stinking phone than I did on my home PC's. the only reason I have a smartphone is because work requires me to monitor messaging 24/7 and they pay for it. I'd huck this thing off an overpass if I could get by with it, but another would just return like an old stray cat you can't get rid of.

My personal cell phone is just that, it's only a phone. It's for convenience in case I get lost or other emergencies. I don't want mobile entertainment, I'd rather do that at home with my family and in small, metered doses. There's way more to life than staring at a stinking 5" screen all hours of the day... or ANY media for that matter.

... and I'm pretty much convinced that a smartphone user texting while driving is going to be the one that eventually kills me on the road. I'm so sick of it

“What has been covered up regarding Apple?”

Fist the issue of the bending phones. Few places even talked about it at first.

Then when story got too big, Apple tried to say that no one really complained about it.

Now Apple cult is busily trying to COVER for Apple by bending every phone they can get their hands on.

All of this is to try to get this story out of the news. Sounds like the way a certain White House behaves.

Soon there will be enough real world complaints where Apple is going to do a quiet recall/replacement.

“Other large “phablet” phones have the same problem. None of them have received anywhere near the publicity, to the point that it’s unknown. Why is that? Is it that no one cares, or was it swept under the rug?”

Because it didn’t happen.

You seriously want to tell me that the same blogs that are working with Apple to cover this up, would somehow hesitate to gleefully show a Samsung phone having the same issue? Dont make me laugh.

It’s a generational thing. I fought getting a smartphone until a puppy chewed up my old Motorola Razr, then went to iPhone because business expectations had ratcheted up to the point that being reachable with both voice and email became unavoidable, and texting was near to impossible with adult male fingers on the analog numerical keys. For others, I’m guessing that these things are central to their lives, more than tv, more than a desktop or laptop computer. Their music, their work, their friends and family, their games, their personal photos. It’s the one indispensable thing, to them. They’re the people who get some sort of thrill out of seeing them destroyed, it’s the shock value I guess? I don’t really “get” it completely myself, that’s just my attempt at understanding.

It’s very devious of Apple to “cover it up” in plain sight, plastered all over every blog, internet news site and all social media, lol. And, it’s just downright unfair for anybody to dare check to see if competing products have the same issue. Downright dastardly, of all the nerve. What is the world coming to?

What the REAL problem is is that there are people out there stupid and clueless enough to BELIEVE that.

And I’d betcha dollars to donuts they ALL were Obama voters.

That hoax has been around a while, directed at numerous devices. Here’s one from May, 2013 from Samsung Galaxy S4 users:

I lost the Otterbox on my iPhone 4S due to another puppy incident, lol. At least the phone was undamaged, but I never bothered to replace the Otterbox. Hope I don’t regret it due to dropping it or something.

My take is that it’s all a marketing ploy by competitors, primarily Samsung, to depress sales of the 6+.

Disagree. I have a Mac Mini, iPad v.2 and iPad Mini Retina and what stopped me from buying an iPhone 6/6+ was the price.

My Smartphone? Samsung Galaxy Avant. $212. No, it doesn't bend (at least not with normal "wear and tear." But then, I don't put it in my back pocket and sit on it.)
