Thanks for that link!
Is it even worth downloading iOS 8 to a 4s, if I’ll be getting the new 6/6+, soon? Thanks.
I don’t know how it works in reverse but you cannot set up a new phone with your existing info and all that if the new phone is behind the old phone as far as which ios. Actually had a Verizon store send us home with a new phone out of the back that didn’t have the latest update when the one we wanted to set it up from did. Had to update the new one first.
Do a full backup of the 4s to your iTunes on your computer first, regardless. How much memory is available on the 4s? You’ll lose about 740 MB of free space after upgrading. If you are already running 7.x, then I’d go for it.
Depending on how long “soon” is, I’d say no. There’s not a lot immediately different as a large part of the changes are “under the hood” as opposed to the total UI overhaul of iOS 7. Unless there’s a feature you have to have, there’s no rush to upgrade, in my opinion.
As we see more developers using extensions, and the real launch of Handoff/Continuity to pass work to and from the Mac (likely next month), iOS 8 will be more of a “must have”. Also, eventually, app updates will likely start requiring the new iOS version as the developers start relying more and more on its features.
Thanks much for your replies ;) I think I’ll pass, since I’ll (hopefully) be getting the new phone in a few weeks.
