"I'm NOT @ War, So Don't Forget it, It's Just a Silly Phase I'm Going Through!", a Fantasy Musical
Sept. 19 2014 | lee martell

Eventually, our long national nightmare that has been the Barack Obama Double-Feature, will thankfully come to a close. Somebody may write a muscial parody of this administration. I can think of at least one song that would fit, how about you? #. Using the 10cc song "I'm Not In Love" Obama speaks on the phone to an ISIS warlord; I'm not at War!, so don't forget it, it's just a silly phase I'm going through.

And just because, I bomb you up, Don't get me wrong, You needn't feel afraid.

I'm not at War, No no. Just Because...

***My apologies to the surviving members of 10cc for messing with your masterpiece. But then, they're British, so they probably have a good sense of humor. Their song even made Paul McCartney envious because of how well it was produced for it's time (1976). If you like slow, ponderous, melodious pop music of the 70's, take a listen and see what I mean. This song (the real song, not any parody) is an incredible piece of craftmanship.

Ummmm...Lee. “incredible piece of craftmanship”?
I assume you are hyperbolic in this statement.

Seriously, “The Archie’s” could have done better.
Ahhhhhh, Sugar!
Oh Honey, Honey!
You are my candy girl..

Nicely done. Whose picture hides the nasty stain on the wall?

10cc, good stuff. Godley and Creme, similar but weird. A good (10cc) song to learn to play, especially for guitar, is "I Bought a Flat Guitar Tutor."

Wall St Shuffle, Rubber Bullets, etc I never thought so either.

Just checked though - looks like the original members are all still around.

I thought about that line. In ‘Berry’s’ case, a relatively clean MIRROR would do nicely. What was that old story about a man who never seemed to age, but his portrait did? Oh, yes! Dorian Grey.

I agree, but that song is still one of my favorites after...OMG...40 years!

As far as the english bands from that period I liked Sweet better - brainless bubblegum stuff. Less cynical.

So consider yourself familiar with top 70’s bands, do ya? Have you ever heard of Sparks; a brother duo, who wrote eclectic songs such as “Pineapple”,or “It’s not 1918”. Sparks was produced by someone related to the actress Liz Tyler. Not her Father Steven Tyler, but someone else even more talented, but far less known. This is ‘inside information’.

I think Mirror Man was written about Obama ... in 1982.

If it wasn't being played hourly on the radio I probably won't know them.

BTW I just watched Sparks playing 'This Town Ain't Big Enough for the Both of Us'. Quirky to say the least.
