Oh, the irony. The liberal feminist media are proving to be trailblazers. At least, that is, for male comedians.
Abortion is a funny word just like guacamole according to comedian Stephen Colberts latest segment. For his Sept. 15 The Colbert Report show, Colbert invited actress Mindy Kaling on as a guest to discuss her comments against abortion sitcoms. Following Colberts lead, Kaling admitted her show might find a hilarious take on abortion in the future.
Kaling, who garnered fame with The Office, now writes, produces and stars as an obg-yn in Fox comedy The Mindy Project. During a recent interview, Flares Magazines Maureen Halushak quoted Kaling as saying, It would be demeaning to the topic to talk about [abortion] in a half-hour sitcom.
After identifying himself as an enormous fan, Colbert addressed Kalings little controversy. People criticized you because you said that, perhaps as an OB-GYN, you dont do like the transvaginal ultrasounds on your show, you dont deal with this question of abortion on your show.
In response, Kaling stressed, My show is as much about gynecology as The Office was about paper. While a lot of women like look to me, Kaling admitted, abortion is not a hilarious subject.
But Its a funny word, Colbert interjected. Going along with the applause, he continued, Its like guacamole. Video below.
Keeping with the theme, Kaling concluded, We havent found a hilarious take on abortion thats saying something new yet. But we might.

During a HuffPost Life segment, Kaling also clarified, When I made that comment, I think that I misspoke. She continued, I said I thought it would demean the issue of abortion to talk about it on a sitcom. What I should have said was my sitcom.
But she also added about abortion: It doesnt strike me and I dont think this is controversial as the funniest of areas, and I run a comedy show.
She’s right abortion is not a hilarious subject.
Anyone else pretty much done?
Really think voting a few rinos in will change our culture?
sigh...
Stand outside Steven’s house with pictures of aborted babies.
Grow a pair.
So, Steve, you dip your tortilla chips into a bowl of baby parts, eh?
“So, Steve, you dip your tortilla chips into a bowl of baby parts, eh?”
Quote of the day!
Maybe next they can do a show called: “Back to the Roots” - a humorous look at plantation life in the old south from the Negro perspective.
I don’t understand this sentence. Part of the dumbing down of America or a misquote? a lot of women like look to me,
I gave up long ago. Must be the dumbing down.
As hilarious as a hemmoroid!
He’s about as funny as Letterman.
If Colbert thinks abortion is so funny perhaps he should take one for the team and abort himself..then we can all laugh at his expense
The best that can be said about Colbert is that he was trying to highlight the horror and deadly seriousness of abortion with ironic humor. Obviously it didn’t work and if Colbert is decent he will explain himself.
Stephen Colbert is a funny word - like what happens when you’re sick and have a lower bowel problem.
Like a festering polyp.
I hate progress sometimes. It would probably take 3 flushes in the old days to get him down the toilet.
When I was a lad, we had outhouses. You could lift the lid and throw the whole turd down at one time.
At least Kaling gets it. As for Colbert, I think he crashes and burns as Letterman's replacement (who watches late night talk anymore?).
So did the use of the term Abortion begin as a euphemism to distance the practice from the real word to describe the practice of killing a living human being? So many people have participated in it now that nobody dare call it murder. Even though that’s precisely what it has always been.
So now abortion has become a ‘funny’ word, and the priests of the Hollywood temples are searching for a way to make a ‘hilarious’ line out of the barbaric bloodbath. So we can all laugh together with the neon god in everyone’s living room. And we can take the place of the genocidal eugenics of the 1930’s.
Evil SOB will get just what he deserves when God brings judgment upon him.
I wonder if Colbert thinks infanticide is a “funny” word?
5.56mm
Both Stephen Colbert and Mindy Kaling are horrible, worthless excretions who BTW aren’t very funny.
