A Texas woman was executed this evening, after spending the last eight years on death row for the murder of her girlfriend's son a decade ago.
Lisa Ann Coleman, 38, of Arlington, Texas, was found guilty of capital murder in the death of 9-year-old Davontae Williams, who had been beaten and bound, and whose body bore more than 250 scars when officials discovered him on July 26, 2004.
'What she’s really guilty of is being a black lesbian,' Stickels said.
'Her sexual orientation played a role in the state choosing to seek the death penalty and in her getting the death penalty.

lasting from 6:12 p.m. to 6:24 p.m., and nothing unusual happened, the Department of
Criminal Justice reported. In her final remarks, she told her family and “the girls on
the row” she loved them. Her last words were, “I’m done.”

“Tell them I finished strong” is an embarrassment as far as last words go. It points too directly at “Tell them I finished the kid off because I am stronger” while indirectly implying “Tell them I still have no concept of remorse for my beastly actions and I think that makes me strong.” Not something to put on a Hallmark card.
