A suspected case of mistaken identity has left a 32-year-old man dead during a night-time romantic encounter in a Northeast Philadelphia apartment this week. Marc Carrion was shot in the head inside a unit at the Holme Circle Apartments Monday night after police say the man who lived there found the victim hiding in his daughter's bedroom. Carrion was rushed to Aria Health Torresdale Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries early Tuesday morning. nvestigators believe Charles Jordan, 41, opened fire on Carrion because he took him for an intruder, but those who knew the 32-year-old claim the man had been invited into the house by Jordan's 20-year-old daughter, reported the Philadelphia Daily News.

There are many ways this headline can be taken.
LOL...that headline is wrong on several levels, but it gave me a laugh.
How did the daughter get dead?
I have seen that phrase “shoot dead” cause problems in a number of headlines. It always makes it sound as if the shooter shot a dead person.
Trashy daughter sneaked trash into the house.
In other more honorable times, a strange dude, or any unrelated dude, in a less than 21 y.o. daughter’s bedroom was risking his life and no one would talk about mistaken identity.
I first read it as his daughter was dead.
Father shoots dead daughter’s ‘lover’ as he crouched in her bedroom because he thought the man was an intruder
Should have written it as:
Intruder Shot dead in Daughter’s room by Father.
Was the daughter dead? Did the lover kill her? or had she died from ebola or something?
Who was crouching? Shooting from a crouching position?
Yup. I’d have shot him.
Horrible story and terribly written headline,
I could see it if it was a Jihadi....just to be sure.
I hope the guy enjoyed himself during his last hour or so on earth.
Author, Snejana Farberov can be hired as “O’s” press sec. with THESE skills!!
I wouldn’t necessarily say that, unless the guy had been raping her or something.
She was CLEARLY of age of consent at 20. She is a WOMAN! She had a man over at the house. Perhaps that was against the house rules, and she secretly had him there. Even so, if he wasn’t threatening anyone, the father shouldn’t have shot him. I expect he’ll be charged with 2nd degree murder, deal down to manslaughter, and get sentenced to 5yrs - 3 suspended; and get out after a year on parole.
It’s unfortunate for everyone involved. The guy’s family lost someone, and he’s probably ruined the relationship with his daughter forever. In my opinion, the guy is a trigger happy idiot.
Now, if the girl was around 13 years old, my opinion would be TOTALLY different regarding this matter.
My wife is 12 years younger then myself...though she was 25 then and not living at home with her parents when we met/dated/married.
That's how I read it. If I saw someone humping a dead girl, I'd shoot them too. Especially if it was my dead daughter. Lousy "journalists", lousy "editors".
“Intruder Shot dead in Daughters room by Father.”
Passive verb tense — -5 pts.
;-)
I've had a few arguments with some freepers who would simply blast away at a shadowy figure in their home. Even though it could be their own child sneaking around, they think they have it coming. Sad. You shouldn't automatically shoot in many cases, it will result in grief from authorities and lawsuits.
