I base most of my thesis on folks I knew in and around school than the bug house. the hospital is the last place druggies or drinkers wind up...but when they do, they are doozies.

I agree and they will vote (or refrain from voting for sane candidates, should they still even exist) away our rights because of their perpetually inebriated thought process.

Crony Cannabisism. No different than building standards, zoning, street sweeping, courts, etc.
The mere existence of government, at least implies they have something to do.
Those things have included going to war, collecting and spending taxes, etc. More recently they make minute laws about every aspect of human endeavor.
You live in a parish or precinct, or district, or township, or county, or state, the officials must all justify their existence and their budgets.
“Tax and regulate” seem to have been favorite justifications for governments.
So why not regulate substances, too? Alcohol, cocaine, marijuana (hemp) etc.?
That has worked out so well. So let’s have more taxes, more regulations, more tax collectors and regulators.
Then let’s get police to assist, so we get still more government. Then give them all pensions for early retirement, since their work is so critical and dangerous.
Eventually the police could benefit from bigger powerful equipment, too. All the better, to collect the taxes to pay the pensions.
These government workers will form vast unions, to contribute to the campaigns of officials.
Which brings us back to Crony Cannabisism.
Stereotypes must contain some element of truth for them to be recognizable.
Definitely MJ for chronic pain. Opiods are far more dangerous by any measure.

Pot is hallucinogenic
If so why does no one hallucinate when stoned? I believe it is listed as a narcotic but doesn’t really fit there either.
Opiates also refer to sleep inducing drugs, so both alcohol and pot could be considered such.
Pot has demonstrated hallucinogenic effects, amd is why it is classed as such, just like LSD. The effects are not as powerful as LSD, but are very real, none the less.
I am sorry you have been mislead all your life, but pot is not the harmless herb you have been told.
I never said it was harmless, just doesn’t cause hallucinations.
Tour beliefs are not shared by Doctors actually treating patients.
It is not prescribed to elderly cancer patients because of the hallucinations it causes in older folks.
Talk to a cancer oncologist with experience treating the elderly

First off let me preface this by saying I am against legalization.
My question to you is, what is your criteria for limiting a drivers license? Just occasional use? Getting caught driving while intoxicated?
DWI/DUI convictions usually include suspension or revocation of a drivers license. And rightfully so. I feel that a similar punishment should be implemented for pot and other driving while intoxicated situations
However revocation of a license in those states where recreational or medicinal pot is legal and the person has not driven while stoned would be draconian and unconstitutional on the face of it.
I'll buy that for certain populations or gargantuan doses it can have hallucinogenic effects - but last I heard it was not classified as a hallucinogen but a euphoric. What is your source for your claim?

For instance:

There are hundreds of other sources, but you can believe what you want. I have learned what I know directly from licensed professionals that work daily with such drugs.
Same deal with booze. We have things like White Lightning, which can kill if you drink too much of it. Since that exists, I think we should ban beer and wine too.
