It was reported Monday that Bill Gates, Microsoft co-founder and incredibly wealthy guy, and with his wife, Melinda, have given $1 million to Initiative 594 in Washington state. The ballot initiative, if passed by voters on November 4 (and it currently enjoys overwhelming support), will require universal background checks for all firearm purchases in the state.

Meh,
The nerd boy to be concerned about is the Colorado kid who has a disturbingly efficient looking “smart” gun design.

Oh man, LOL doesnt even begin to describe exactly how loud i laughed out loud when i read this. so we’re supposed to be scared that a rich liberal is throwing money away on an issue that is bound to pass in a blue state oooooooooh im shaking in my boots. and now that i think abou it....the waste of that money kinda contradicts the notion that he’s a genius doesnt it?
Heck, I would initiate the “Touch a Gun Day” program and overload the system with millions of background checks to the point that it collapses their network entirely.
ooooooo. I’m petrified. /s
Bill Gates: Un Amerrican anti-constitutional nerd. Still,
a nerd is a nerd no matter how much lipstick you put on IT.
Just wondering how they’ll check two hunters way out there where one would pass his gun to another while climbing over something. They going to post cops deep in the forest to make sure hunters don’t “transfer” their weapon to someone else?
comrade Lenin.
Yet another reason why I own a MAC.
Bill Gates was a man of capital and access. He wasn’t very far sighted though.
You are quite right.
Here is(was) a real genius. The “Father of the Personal Computer”, Henry Edward Roberts, MD.
Ed Roberts was a computer engineer who created the Altair 8800, and hired Gates and Allen to write code for it. They wrote code for the first Microsoft computer the Altair BASIC. For which they paid a pittance to Roberts (having met Dr. Roberts at a medical convention, he freely spoke of this).

A guy who retired from computer engineering to go to medical school and complete a lifelong dream of being a country doctor who made house calls. He lived in Cochran, GA and when he was dying, guess who came to visit him at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon— Bill Gates and Paul Allen (each in their own private jet). They owed him big time.
And he was a genius.
gates knows programing? I though he was a marketer who managed to weasel dos from someone.
Kind of like his software....
A good friend took an old Dell D620 stripped Windoz and is running full Ubuntu. I got to see it today. Not to shabby.
But back to the subject. We are all tired of these Limo-Liberals trying to nudge us into their vision of Utopia. The Gates's included...
Our would be masters only think need protection.
I can’t imagine who would want possibly to harm the global oligarchs
“The bill actually BANS handing a buddy a gun at the range to take a few shots with, UNLESS he undergoes a background check for EVERY gun of yours he shoots with!”
I don’t agree with the bill but it does allow temporary transfers at authorized shooting ranges.
This begs the question:
“If you’re so rich, how come you’re not smart?”
“Just wondering how theyll check two hunters way out there where one would pass his gun to another while climbing over something. “
Temporary transfers during hunting are allowed.
