I am definitely hooked on greyhounds.
My current greyhound, "Fernando"
My first greyhound, "Wink" (RIP)
Any other Freepers "hooked on greyhounds?"

Beautiful dogs - they make great couch potato lapdogs. They’re just happy to curl up beside you.
Outdoors - not so great. Keep them on a leash for if they decide to run, catching them is next to impossible.

Great dogs, and adopting them is cool. I like the “old breeds”, and had basenjis for almost 20 years.

Crazy cultists.
Now this is a dog.

We have had a Grey for 3 years and fostered one last winter. Wonderful dogs I would never consider another breed after having one.

From my observations, Greyhound owners are almost as crazy as Pug owners.

How long does an adopted greyhound usually live?

11-12 years. They’re a large breed.
An Italian Greyhound or Whippet takes up less space and is a longer-lived sighthound dog.

I FReely admit to being a sight-hound-phile. I have had the pleasure of several greyhounds, whippets, and borzoi throughout my years -— even one (and only one) afghan hound. All beautiful and wonderful dogs, even if the afghan was a bit of a flake.

What is that, a Jack Russell?
Wonderful dogs, and smart, too.
I've never met a dog I didn't like, though I've met plenty who did not reciprocate the sentiment, around whom I usually gave a wide berth.
I've got a runt Husky, at present, who talks, though with an admittedly limited vocabulary, mostly about what interests dogs. Even so, she has taught me more about stoicism than a concentrated study of Epictetus.

Used Greyhound owners are a bit cultic too. I helped buy one for a camp I drive for.
