The Insiders: Is there a mutiny brewing around Obama?
The Washigton Post ^ | September 13, 2014 | Ed Rogers

Is a mutiny happening around President Obama? It appears possible that the president may not have made two of his most recent decisions with complete free will. The announcement that he would delay his immigration initiative until after the election and his formal announcement that the United States would take military action against the Islamic State could have been coerced.

Maybe Democratic leaders in Congress and a few members of the Obama team have had it. Could it be that, after President Obama briefed Democrats in Congress on the immigration plan, they balked? Maybe the president was told that, if he waved in millions of new illegal immigrants before November, there would be an open revolt against him within the party.

Similarly, a few members of this administration who have independence, stature and an adult disposition may have told the president he must act on the Islamic State or else they were out. I’m thinking of at least Secretary of State John Kerry and Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel. Is it possible they could not stomach doing nothing any longer and told the president that they would quit in protest if he did not take action?

A man is known by the company he keeps. In Øbozo’s case it is thugs and degenerates. There’s not a decent human being to be found in his vicinity.

“It appears possible that the president may not have made two of his most recent decisions with complete free will.”

is more than slightly possible that he’s never actually made any of his own decisions since being crowned

Why is the “Praetorian Guard” (i.e., Secret Service) harboring nasty thoughts?

They use the word mutiny. They are using it incorrectly.

The “best case” result of a mutiny is for the captain to find himself adrift. The chance of this happening to Obama is zero. Zilch. Nada. Nil.

I can’t see John Kerry resigning this position for anything in the world.

In his mind, he’s absolutely the best person for the job

Barry and the ‘RATS love to give us “Christmas presents”. This Christmas is going to be like no other Christmas we’ve ever seen. Hang on to your wallets! This isn’t going to be pretty. Millions of new freeloaders for the taxpayers to support.

Some people can handle that. Maybe they’re finally waking up.

He was summoned off his vacation and had the coming to Jesus meeting. I wonder who was the bearer of that bit of news of ‘come, we need to talk - or else’. And I wonder what ‘or else’ was. Perhaps it was ‘we will remove you legislatively post haste’.

I don’t think it is an actual “mutiny”.

O’bummer couldn’t command a toy boat in a bathtub.

They are throwing themselves overboard like the rats they are.

They were for him before they were against him.

The Empty Chair making his own decisions? That's a joke.

He has always been told what to do by the shadowy cabal of leftists who snuck him into the Oval Office.

I can’t see John Kerry resigning this position for anything in the world.

One possible reason: he sees what is happening to Hillary! having to distance herself from the [same] administration that she was SOS in, and doesn't want to suffer the same ignominy.

‘I can’t see John Kerry resigning this position for anything in the world.

Absolutely right. Plus he is a pathologically self-centered egoist. His only question is, ‘will it be good for me now & for my future?’ Crossing Obama wouldn’t seem like a good move to him, so he’d never do it.

All speculation, unfortunately. I don't see John Effin' as much of a mutineer, and I don't for a minute think that he or Hagel are up to opposing the President for what are essentially professional reasons, that profession being what they're being paid to do and not the fact that they're politicians. If either one actually possesses any strategic faculties that would lead this direction it certainly isn't obvious from past performance.

The author is on firmer ground in suspecting that it was Democrat fear of the backlash of an executive-mandated immigration policy that impelled him to table that for the moment, or rather until after the November elections. If I had to guess, that's the same motivation for any pressure on 0bama to take action in Iraq. It's all about the optics.
