The death of pop singer and former "X-Factor" contestant Simone Battle, a member of G.R.L., has been ruled a suicide by hanging, the Los Angeles County coroner said today.....

"Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing," the statement said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time."

Battle grew up in Los Angeles, where she did some part time modeling and work in television and movies before ending up on tour with the Black Eyed Peas after high school, according to RCA records.

She committed suicide.

I have no idea who this young lady is, but my heart breaks for the lost souls who get so caught up in fame and celebrity but find it cannot fulfill their lives.

Robin Williams was the same way....all the accolades and money and fame could not provide him with true joy.

And this yearning but not receiving isn't just applicable to "stars"....the middle class and poor experience the same thing.

We truly need a spiritual awakening in this land.

Fame may be the most addictive drug that you can't buy.

Well said. I don’t care who it is, what they believed in or how they acted, it’s a shame when any person falls to the point where suicide looks like an answer.

My beloved sister in law hung herself 30 years ago. It still stings. It was so horrific for my in-laws to find her. My heart goes out of Miss Battle’s family. May she finally be at peace.
